I will hate if we do this. My only thought is we want our second back in the deal to offer sheet another player we have our eyes on?TBone wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:16 am Here is what Elliot Friedman is reporting.
This would be a HELL no from me, btw.

Would you trade:
11th overall
For
McTavish
2027 2nd Round (Blues)?

I wouldn't until I've exhausted my efforts to trade up and/or see what's available at 11.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:19 am Holding out any commentary until we know something.
Id be all right with 11 for McTavish and our 2027 2nd back. I'd rather be shipping them something else in addition that we don't want, like Drouin.
I'll withhold judgement until we have details.
If played as a center who would be his facilitator since he's really not one?
These centers who are really forwards feel like a recipe to underproductive money. More Pavel Buchnevich's.

I trust the amateur dept more than the pro side. I dunno I feel like the Blues can get a better player with #11 or jump up to 7th ish. I hate to use that much capital on a guy with red flags. Do we believe MM is a star? Seems over drafted at #3. I'm more comfortable with McMichael at center with his flags or a lesser move for another 2/3C tweener or just make the picksDyadicEffect wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:28 amI will hate if we do this. End of the day I'm just not sure there is really that much difference between 11 and 15. Especially with the way the Blues have scouted the draft recently and had success wherever they've picked.TBone wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:36 amI wouldn't until I've exhausted my efforts to trade up and/or see what's available at 11.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:19 am Holding out any commentary until we know something.

So I'm inclined to giving them the benefit of the doubt.
And if they truly go for that 2nd rounder back, that tells me they're thinking offer sheet. And thus i couldn't even completely judge this trade until that plays out

So the result could be McTavish and Bourque for 11.DyadicEffect wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:28 amI will hate if we do this. Getting the 2nd back would be interesting, and guessing Dorofeyev would be a possible target. Army could work out a trade with Vegas instead of going the offer sheet route, something Vegas would probably be open to since they know they are vulnerable. Vegas doesn’t seem to have any attachment to specific players - they are just a means to an end, so they aren’t keeping Dorofeyev at any cost.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:41 amEnd of the day I'm just not sure there is really that much difference between 11 and 15. Not sure I believe these Robertson rumors, by the way, as he would have wrecked our salary structure, where as Dorofeyev would probably fit in with what we currently have. It’s obviously inevitable that we have to pay someone more than $8 million, but if you suddenly drop $14 mil on Robertson, guys like Thomas are probably going to feel very underpaid.

Is that our 2nd or theirs? It has to be ours to propose an offer sheet, yes?

Yeah would have to be our 2027 second rounder back from Anaheim that we traded them for Fowler.TBone wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:57 amThis occured to me too.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:41 am And if they truly go for that 2nd rounder back, that tells me they're thinking offer sheet. Somebody like Dorofeyev is probably looking at the 1st-2nd-3rd compensation bracket. Has to be all your original picks.

Re: Rangers Ducks talking McTavish
The reality is Mctavish is far less of a risk than any of our draft picks, While I'd rather combine assets and get a bigger fish I'm don't know if that is even an option. I gotta think we have already explored other better options with no success.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 06:38 amI trust the amateur dept more than the pro side. Re: Rangers Ducks talking McTavish
I just think, what do the Ducks want, and why do they want to move McTavish?
As far as what he offers that we could use, I've identified one specific skill: shootouts. If he's a competitor who is hard to play against, I could see him as a fit, even on the wing.
Would a swap with NYR of Lafrenriere be in consideration? Or has he regained favor in NY? I've heard they're shopping Trocheck, but do the Ducks want him? I would.
Again, what do the Ducks want? Just a pick or two? Which would mean just to get him off their team...

Maybe they want those 1st rounders to flip to Vancouver for Hronek.zamadoo wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 07:30 am I just think, what do the Ducks want, and why do they want to move McTavish?

What about, as suggested above, 11 for McTavish and our second? With the thought that pick would be used for an offer sheet/trade

Didn't we just essentially want Kyrou off our team?zamadoo wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 07:30 am I just think, what do the Ducks want, and why do they want to move McTavish?

Players sometimes don't work out with teams or coaches. It happens.
