If your sole objective is winning as many games as possible that's a perfectly fine idea. If your goal is to balance winning along with developing and/or evaluating talent to determine who to keep going forward then letting Liberatore try and work through this makes a lot of sense. Same thing with letting Burleson and Gorman face LH pitching.

Libby is getting a long leash not because it’s a rebuild season, but because the way the roster is built.
But the roster is built the way that is because it's a rebuild season.

You're right he struck out 8. Liberatore has evolved his pitching arsenal so much over his time in the big leagues. He now has many secondary options and is more effective with the fastball. I believe he will continue to work and improve further.

True, but unlike Burleson getting platooned, removing Libby from the rotation isnt really an option right now.
