Re: Bolduc Analysis - Proven Ability
Bolduc is a very good player. Selected by the Blues and Army and his staff. Another recognition of finding talent and developing them. The question is whether or not the talent identifier is correct on Mailloux. IF Mailloux is similarly rated to Bolduc, then the Blues win the trade and so do the Cans
Re: Bolduc Analysis - Proven Ability
I've not seen any prospect army traded for work out. None.
Trades are 100% Army evaluation. There's no scouts in the room.
This trade not only didn't need to happen. But Army literally gave Bolduc away.
Montreal has always tried to bring locals back to the area.
So they really wanted Bolduc.
Trading away that kind of potential and NHL skill at 21. For a player who was never gonna be a NHLer in Montreal. One for one. Is more then a major gaff. But a pattern of Army flopping like a fish. While getting hooked.
I'll be glad when the bad trades, big ego, and a yearly consistently worst team ends.
If not for the paid loud bullies who would beg him to marry their daughters His act would of ended years ago. Glad it's almost over. Feel for Steen as he is left a burned down house.

Stay tuned. You are overlooking several potential and rather obvious scenarios.Bacchk29 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 11:07 amThe answer so far is yes. The Blues are replacing Bolduc with Joseph or Texier right now at 3rd line wing coming out of camp. That’s a downgrade for sure. Also Dvorsky looks like he’s not gonna make the team. Not good.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 04:02 amI need BluesTalk. Army and the Blues select later in the draft by choice. In that scenario, the ABSOLUTE VERY BEST that you can hope for is a Bolduc type player.
So what the Blues gave up is THE VERY BEST that we can hope for in the draft. Further, they gave up a player who was TRENDING UP on NHL ice. Bolduc was PROVEN. He was our Success Story. He was a young player that we all followed closely from draft day.
What did the Canadiens give up? They traded away an UNPROVEN player. They traded away a player that few looked up to in Montreal. They traded away a player that they selected later in the draft. Not only can Montreal draft BETTER than Mailloux, they HAVE DRAFTED HIGHER than Mailloux often.
Bolduc is GONE. The question now is HOW MANY MORE BOLDUCS are we going to be "GIVING AWAY" in the next 3 years--BECAUSE WE DON"T DRAFT HIGH IN THE DRAFT.
Anybody not PO'd about Bolduc is not paying attention. Anybody that doesn't see an ugly, nasty trend starting is not paying attention.
The Canadiens needed a forward whom is generally considered to have strong potential to be a very good NHL caliber player.
What is so difficult to understand about those two facts??
It is not so much that you are stupid...it's that you are stubbornly stupid. Your obsessive compulsive disorder that drives your thinking and posting needs professional treatment. Pay attention, try to think, seek professional counseling.
Army has needed a RHD with good size and potential for how many years now? Regardless of that, you're confident that Army has finally hit the nail on the head this time.
Did we just give up a proven NHL player for yet another Armstrong whiff?
First, consider that the team needs to kill penalties. 3RW may need to do much more than score goals, and Monty might prefer a veteran there.
Second, it's quite possible 3RW for the first nine games might be Carbonneau. The veterans are needed to reach the cap on the initial roster submission. The team could then use the open 3rd line spot to take a look at one or more other prospects from time to time as the season progresses.
Third, there could be a trade, before or during the season. Army has been known to pull in-season deals.

A miserable Bomac is fun to watch. I like the caveat "traded for". In the end Broberg and Holloway were talked about between the Blues and EDM. We ended up sending them another prospect and a pick as well. I know YOU will never admit that, you are looking for an excuse to talk about Dean. Army did not give Bolduc away. He got back a player on the AHL Top Prospects team.
It doesn't matter if Mailloux would have (again) been an NHL player in Montreal, he would have been somewhere.
Yearly a consistently worse team? What are you smoking? The 21-22 team reached 109 points, ten more than the Cup team! After two contract-driven retool seasons the team rebounded to 96 points and a playoff berth. An upswing. Look at Army's record as the Blues GM, it is one of the best in the league over that span.

I don't. Without looking I'd guess there has been three total prospects army traded for. In 15+ years.britishblue wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 11:38 amGot any examples?Cahokanut wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 11:32 am I've not seen any prospect army traded for work out. None.

What i remember the most is having most of our top ten in scoring under 23 when [shirt] for brains pulled his wagon in.
We spent three years at the top of the league. And our regular seasons have went steadily downhill since. The more our team becomes a Army product the more losses that come.
Steen better have some magic. As things are not as bright, as Army and his cult, like to beat into anyone who might disagree.

Why cherry pick a season and excuse others as retools, give it a break. His record has steadily went downhill. AGAIN. His record has gotten worse as this team has become his. The guy even apologized for it. You can't pick enough cherries for that win percentage line not to have gone down. So, Just stop. Before the cult sees you are disagreeing with the 'great One.
What's funny. Without those first five years. Army sits around 14. It's that team built by another that gets Army's great record into the top ten over those years.
And let's not even give a look at the only thing that matters(to those not in a cult). Playoffs.
We're Army has category leads in first rd exits and missed.

21-22 109 points
22-23- 81 points
23-24- 92 points
24-25- 96 points
How is that steadily downhill ever since? We won the Cup with 99 points.

Except the 92 point team missed the playoffs, and, the 96 point team took the President's Trophy winner with the Vezina winning goalie (who we chased 3 times) to 2OT of Game 7. While missing a 60 point player. Yeah your right. Those teams were very similar to watch.theograce wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 12:07 pmPretty identical over the past 2 yearsDawgDad wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 12:02 pmDo you realize the team's point total has INCREASED from the prior season in 3 of the past 4 seasons?Cahokanut wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 11:51 amI don't. It's been Army's product for 15 years. Including that team that won the Cup.
Just a weird statement.
