I ain't trading Kryou for any of these guys. I know there is a lot of smoke but Dobson, Nemec, and Mercer are not the guys. The Islanders have nothing I want and if we are talking about Kyrou to the Devils, Hischer is the ask

From a talent/production perspective I get it, but he's only got 2 years left on his deal and is UFA.

How about Hischier+Nemec? Do we need to add, or is that fair value for you?

It’s not about goals. It’s about direction of franchise. Can you build around him. Can you win with him? Is he built for the playoffs. What’s his fire like now that he got paid. Coachable?

Both would be really big summer acquisitions. I feel like the Blues should pass.

Byram is a high skilled player with less than great advanced stats. He has a concussion history with the Avs. And he is on the move again. It feels to me like whatever he wants to make isn't really worth the risk. I fear he is a Torey Krug 2.0.

Dobson is another one I would pass on. Not that he isn't a great acquisition. Because he would cost a lot to get and cost a lot to keep. I don't think the asset cost would be worth the risk. Even at a one for one swap of Kyrou for Dobson.

I would rather the Blues partner with the Devils. I like Kyrou plus for Nemec and Mercer. Nemec to me is a much better pickup than Byram or Dobson.

Statistically, JK has been 100% consistent.

Intangibly, he has vastly improved over time with room for upside in this aspect.

If the Blues move him, they need the same player circumstance in return....a solid, no risk player.

I am not on the side of trading Kyrou. He does seem to be the presumed asset for any trade involving an updated for the defense.

Who is your choice for solid, no risk player?

Maybe Dobson is as close to that as can be expected. I don't know him as a player like a lot of you but his stats are impressive and his age is perfect.
But a few posters here seem a bit wary on what value he should be awarded if landed and just what his imact might be.

Minus 16 on the Isles last year speaks well.

I'm a homer so I'm still holding out hope DA can do something no one is seeing on the radar screen.

You're probably not up to speed on the details that make this particular window of time useful one. Kyrou is not Mike Bossy. He's an adequate first line player with pros and cons and Blues need real talent, not mediocre talent back on D for him which is the whole point. Go look at the list of defensemen who have put up 70 pts at 24 and tell me if the list is mediocre because Dobson is on that list and Dobson-Parakyo makes us a serious contender. Whereas the Blues just drafted two RW 1st round players and within the past 25 games or so those players are showing they are getting ready to take more ice time. Snuggerud is already the superior forechecker.

FWIW I have no interest in Byram. Major interest in Dobson.
