Take your Arenado hate to shuttytown fools! When Booby Witt Jr. gets all grown up he wishes to have Arenado stats.
It’s not hate to believe a .243 .703 OPS defensive specialist shouldn’t be batting cleanup. It’s dumb to think he should continue to hit clean up

BWAAAAHAHAHA!!! That defensive specialist averages 32 home runs, 108 rbi, .853 ops 120 ops+ is a multiple time all star, multiple top 10 MVP top 3 just 2 years ago, plays everyday and got 2 hits today.

More like STUD A NADO!
lol you’re an idiot. Who cares what he hit earlier in his career Last season he hit 16 homeruns and drove in 70 hitting clean up this season hes even worse. .703 OPS clean up hitter is awful
Considering the source, I take your insults as a compliment, thanks. The dude finished top 3 in MVP a few years ago. Put up like 8 WAR and .900 ops. He just turned 34, there is still plenty left in the tank. You look at past performance to determine future performance. The man is a Pros Pro, probably going to the hall of fame and bats clean up for team America in WBC. The things about guys that good is they know how to play and be successful at this level consistently. Quit over reacting there is a long way to go. This isn't his first rodeo, he has more than earned the respect to be given the benefit of the doubt at this game. Maybe a little slower start than anyone wants, a hot month can fix all that quick.
Arenado has clearly declined since then
He had a
774 ops in 2023. .719 in 2024. 2025 is now .702.

He clearly isnt the same player. Its not just a slump anymore. A slow 2.5 years? Wake up.
Yes, he has had a couple of AVERAGE seasons or slightly above average. He has also had a well above average and a monster season in St. Louis. He did better in 2022 than in 21 and he had a rough year his last in Colorado and has come back. You go though patches in a career. When the worst you can state is he is slightly above average when not at his best that's okay. The Cards are playing good.
Nobody is saying to get rid of him necessarily, his defense is still outstanding. He just isn’t a #4 hitter anymore. It’s ok to be a fan of him and still admit that.
Fair, I will admit I am a HUGE Arenado fan. So are a lot of other Cards fans. People want big name players doing big time stuff. Let's put our future hall of famer in the best position possible to be successful. If they aren't winning and he is struggling below league average for a month I would be with you. Right now I think you don't mess with one of the hottest teams dynamics. Hey, you all were wrong about this club the whole time, let Manager Oli do his job. If he agrees with you. So will I.

lol This isn’t the steroid era where aging players continue to Put up MVP numbers as they age he hit 16 homeruns drove in 71 with a .719 all of last season he has 4 homer runs and 18 RBI with a .699OPS so far this season so his “slow” start lasted all of last season and all of this season so far just when exactly is he going to start pulling some out of the tank?
Huh? Goldy just won MVP at age 34 (YES, LITERALLY PUT UP MVP NUMBERS). He is also putting up huge numbers so far this season after having a lower ops than Nado last year. Nado had 2 hits today, Cards have been one of the hottest teams lately and are doing well on offense. The only 2 games they lost the last few weeks were only by 1 run and they had looks at them. Look at Willson Contreras and Winn they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat to start the season. Everything is clicking on all cylinders, don't mess with success.

He gets hot when he gets hot, nobody knows when that is. When he does those will be big numbers. Herrera is doing great right where he is.
Over his last 10 months, Arenado has 1…ONE…month with an OPS above .750. That was an .807 OPS in August of last year. He hasn’t been getting hot. He is not the same hitter he once was.
Come on get real! That was only 3+ playing months ago. You can't count the off season. BWAAAAHAHAHA!!!! For 6 of the last 10 months he has also put up the same numbers as Ohtani and Judge. Give me 3 average months and a big 4th for a career and you are a stud. I get it, I really do. He is not Mike Schmidt or Chipper Jones anymore he is more Brooks Robinson now.

Yes, his best position to succeed is hitting 6th. That puts the team in the best position to succeed. Contreras has been the team’s best hitter since we signed him, he should bat 4th. And Herrera is our breakout hitter, he should bat 5th. That puts Arenado in a great position to be a 6th hitter like his OPS has suggested he should be over the last 3 years. And I wasn’t wrong, I had them winning 90 games. They could very well surpass even my expectations, but we will see.

This isn't his first rodeo, he has more than earned the respect to be given the benefit of the doubt at this game. Maybe a little slower start than anyone wants, a hot month can fix all that quick.
lol This isn’t the steroid era where aging players continue to Put up MVP numbers as they age he hit 16 homeruns drove in 71 with a .719 all of last season he has 4 homer runs and 18 RBI with a .699OPS so far this season so his “slow” start lasted all of last season and all of this season so far just when exactly is he going to start pulling some out of the tank?

That wasn’t calendar year 10 months, that was playing season 10 months.

August of 2024 was 3+ plating months ago not 10 playing months ago. You can't count the off season to state it's been 10 months since he had a hotter month.

+1 I wouldn’t even consider .807 a hot
Month unless you’re a light hitting middle infielder and your OPS is usually way lower

"He has not been getting hot" is what you stared. He had a hotter month 3+ playing months ago. He has had 108 and 101 ops+ the last 2 seasons. That is league average or slightly above at the plate, coming off a monster year the one before. Ops+ is a better determination of the numbers than just straight ops it includes more information.

Is that what this is all about, you want Herrera up more? Okay, move Herrera to 2 and Winn to 8 or 9. It's basically the same thing as you will have 2 table setters in Winn and Scott with a 3 type hitter in Noot in front of him, that also puts Nado at 6 or second clean up. I could live with that if it makes you all happy. We tried Contreras at 2 and he wasn't hitting and we weren't winning big. I don't know what it is but there might be some mental comfort or pitch sequences etc that effect batting orders, maybe Herrera is only good hitting 6th like when they moved Contreras down. I will state it again, I don't think we should be messing with a winning formula.

It's all about the wins! I don't care if we win 1-0 with 2 hits or 11-10 with 15 hits. The best teams on paper don't always win.

lol This isn’t the steroid era where aging players continue to Put up MVP numbers as they age he hit 16 homeruns drove in 71 with a .719 all of last season he has 4 homer runs and 18 RBI with a .699OPS so far this season so his “slow” start lasted all of last season and all of this season so far just when exactly is he going to start pulling some out of the tank?

That wasn’t calendar year 10 months, that was playing season 10 months.

August of 2024 was 3+ plating months ago not 10 playing months ago. You can't count the off season to state it's been 10 months since he had a hotter month.
I didn’t say it’s been 10 months since he’s had a hotter month. I said that in his last 10 months (meaning playing months) he has had 1 month with an OPS above .750. And an .807 OPS for a “hot month” is a far cry from where Arenado used to be.
A hot month for a player hitting 4th should be at least a .900 OPS and preferably close to 1.000. Arenado hasn’t had one of those months since July of 2023.

Contreras and Herrera have both had multiple months this year and last with .900+ OPS’s as well as others in the mid .800s.

Why take a guy who is hitting well in the two spot out of the two spot and give him fewer at bats and move herrera up to replace him just so a guy who isn’t a damage hitter anymore can continue to bat clean up and not drive in runs? Even Winn has more home runs than Arenado and hes been on the IL

I don't want to do anything, I want what has been working. You all want to get Herrera more at bats in bigger situations (I think). That was the original plan when they had Contreras batting second. On the chess board game of lineups Winn is a strong knight or bishop, Nado is a rook. The ceiling for driving in runs and "cleaning up" is much greater with Nado, he is a power player. Winn is more of a table setter, speed, troublemaker versatile player. You do it to roll over the bottom of the lineup to maximize your chances at a big inning with Herrera up to "clean up" or try to steal a runs from the bottom of the lineup.

You won't have less at bats if you score more. Nado deserves some protection, you don't want to bunch outs together to kill rallies, Winn is still a young guy less stress.

Since beginning of last season Winn has the same number of HRs and more doubles than Nado.

Nado: 33 2B 20 HR
Winn: 38 2B 20 HR

And for as much speed as Winn has, he’s not much of a SB threat yet.

What we want is the guys that really hit in the middle of the order, the guys like Contreras/Herrera.

Noot
Winn
Donovan
Contreras
Herrera
Arenado
Walker/Burleson/Gorman
