Take your Arenado hate to shuttytown fools! When Booby Witt Jr. gets all grown up he wishes to have Arenado stats.
It’s not hate to believe a .243 .703 OPS defensive specialist shouldn’t be batting cleanup. It’s dumb to think he should continue to hit clean up
BWAAAAHAHAHA!!! That defensive specialist averages 32 home runs, 108 rbi, .853 ops 120 ops+ is a multiple time all star, multiple top 10 MVP top 3 just 2 years ago, plays everyday and got 2 hits today.

More like STUD A NADO!
Witt is so much better right now than Arenado. His stats will dwarf Nolan's career. Witt also steals 30 bases a year, doubt Nolan will steal 50 in his career. Not only is Arenado not a good hitter now, when he gets on he is a base clogger.

Where Nado bats vs. Herrera

First problem is calling the 4th spot 'clean up ' ..a term coined years ago . Other than 1st guy being called 'leadoff' which he does every game 1st inning, there is no special recognition batting 4th . What is the third spot called ? 2nd ? Only the 4th spot has a label .. the 'cleanup' spot.
Metrics have shown that putting the team's best hitter with pop works out better 2nd in lineup where he gets more plate appearances than the 4th guy.

The real question between 4th and 6th is not some miracle powers to 'cleanup ' better at 4th ... No, it's simply that Herrera will get more plate appearances over the long haul batting two spots higher . Today was one of the examples.. Cards best batter slotted 6th got one less plate appearance today and trailing by a run could have impacted the game possibly.
That's why the call for swapping our 6th player with the 4 th batter currently. Nothing to do with 'cleaning up 'anything.

Considering the source, I take your insults as a compliment, thanks. The dude finished top 3 in MVP a few years ago. Put up like 8 WAR and .900 ops. He just turned 34, there is still plenty left in the tank. You look at past performance to determine future performance. The man is a Pros Pro, probably going to the hall of fame and bats clean up for team America in WBC. The things about guys that good is they know how to play and be successful at this level consistently. Quit over reacting there is a long way to go. This isn't his first rodeo, he has more than earned the respect to be given the benefit of the doubt at this game. Maybe a little slower start than anyone wants, a hot month can fix all that quick.

I hate it. If Walker never plays against righties, might as well trade him today. Same with Gorman.

Why not give NADO a game off and let Gorman play third while giving Contreras a rest and letting Walker get another start.

Might as well trade these guys if you're not going to play them. Or send them to Memphis.
How weird that JW has twice as many ABs vs righties, than lefties...dumb [shirt]
A lot more righties in this league....
You said he never gets to play vs righties in this thread and another. Just making [shirt] up. Goo for you

Do you have any idea what percentage of players make it to the Hall Of Fame? BW Jr. is a terrific player and has a bright future, this game isn't as easy as you all think it is. To be that good for that long is extremely difficult. 98.5% of players won't do it. Lots of guys have good stretches and years only about 1.5% can maintain it for a career. Come back with that junk after he has 7 or 8 more monster seasons and a few average ones. He isn't even Christian Yellich, Cody Bellinger, Jimmy Rollins etc level yet. Long way to go.

Nobody should be bringing up career stats when talking about Nado now. He was once a great power hitter, but those days are gone. He hasn’t had better than the 7th best OPS on our own team in either of the past 2 seasons and is currently 7th best again this year. He shouldn’t be hitting higher than 6th on this team.

lol This isn’t the steroid era where aging players continue to Put up MVP numbers as they age he hit 16 homeruns drove in 71 with a .719 all of last season he has 4 homer runs and 18 RBI with a .699OPS so far this season so his “slow” start lasted all of last season and all of this season so far just when exactly is he going to start pulling some out of the tank?

Huh? Goldy just won MVP at age 34 (YES, LITERALLY PUT UP MVP NUMBERS). He is also putting up huge numbers so far this season after having a lower ops than Nado last year. Nado had 2 hits today, Cards have been one of the hottest teams lately and are doing well on offense. The only 2 games they lost the last few weeks were only by 1 run and they had looks at them. Look at Willson Contreras and Winn they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat to start the season. Everything is clicking on all cylinders, don't mess with success.

He gets hot when he gets hot, nobody knows when that is. When he does those will be big numbers. Herrera is doing great right where he is.

Arenado has clearly declined since then
He had a
774 ops in 2023. .719 in 2024. 2025 is now .702.

He clearly isnt the same player. Its not just a slump anymore. A slow 2.5 years? Wake up.

Over his last 10 months, Arenado has 1…ONE…month with an OPS above .750. That was an .807 OPS in August of last year. He hasn’t been getting hot. He is not the same hitter he once was.

Going to win a lot more of those than lose. Good to see Wacha do well, I always liked him, he was a good Cardinal.

More like STUD A NADO!
lol you’re an idiot. Who cares what he hit earlier in his career Last season he hit 16 homeruns and drove in 70 hitting clean up this season hes even worse. .703 OPS clean up hitter is awful
Arenado has clearly declined since then
He had a
774 ops in 2023. .719 in 2024. 2025 is now .702.

He clearly isnt the same player. Its not just a slump anymore. A slow 2.5 years? Wake up.
Yes, he has had a couple of AVERAGE seasons or slightly above average. He has also had a well above average and a monster season in St. Louis. He did better in 2022 than in 21 and he had a rough year his last in Colorado and has come back. You go though patches in a career. When the worst you can state is he is slightly above average when not at his best that's okay. The Cards are playing good.

Hes in clear decline these last 3 years And hes paid to be a star. Actually, outside of oulier of 2022 hes been in clear decline since 2020

Hes still an okay player, butnhes overpaid although thats a spent cost, but he shouldnt be hitting cleannup as a league average hitter.

Nobody is saying to get rid of him necessarily, his defense is still outstanding. He just isn’t a #4 hitter anymore. It’s ok to be a fan of him and still admit that.
