...Card's hits were there...the timing of them wasn't. 12 hits should produce more than 1 run in a game. Cards 0-for-8 with RISP, with 13 runners LOB... I attribute some of this to "road fatigue," but it is what it is... A 7-2 road trip is pretty good...would take that every time...

That game was sad. Too many similarities to teams of old that had reoccurring issues with stranding runners on.

Luckily they won game 1 and 2 and go home after a pretty great roadtrip. Detroit tomorrow will continue the recent testing of the team. Those Tigers do have the best record in baseball and all that.

Hopefully Sonny's last start was a hiccup.

One reason to swap him with Herrera, this game can be over with him not getting a chance to hit.

Exactly it’s stupid to bat Herrera 6th and Nado 4th. Seldom does a close game get down to the 6th hitter late in the game, but more often you can see 3/4 up in the 9th with the game on the line.

Yep. Lineups can and do matter. You want more PAs for your best hitters.

That's why Sabermetrics have shown the #2 in order is the best place for a top hitter. Lot of at bats (not as many as No. 1 but more chance to drive in a run in the 1st inning too.

And that's where the lineup can make a big difference. PAs. NA got 1 more than Herrera, and that shouldn't be happening.

Correct ..today was example of No. 6 batter got the one less plate appearance for the order did not get to his spot at the end of the game.
Unsure of the math, but think with the remaining no. of games .. Herrera at 6th will get about 40 less plate appearances than Arenado at 4th spot.

BWAAAAHAHAHA!!! That defensive specialist averages 32 home runs, 108 rbi, .853 ops 120 ops+ is a multiple time all star, multiple top 10 MVP top 3 just 2 years ago, plays everyday and got 2 hits today.
