In the old days when we had a mediocre club we simply grinned and bore it until the team got better which it always did....eventually. This team will do the same in a few years. There's plenty of talent waiting in the wings.
I get that an 80 year old doesn't have much patience for mediocrity, but it isn't like the team isn't competitive or isn't attempting to get better. Denying that is disingenuous.

Exactly...the vast majority of posters are Cards fans and have opinions...nothing more...and then you have a few who claim to have inside information and challenge anyone who is critical of DeTwit and Mo-ran...methinks they are full of [shirt]!

Doubt that, when I talk about positive progress by some of our minor leaguers. And post facts to back that up. You have never followed or cared about that. Probably never will, even though that's where the majority of our future successes may come from. You're still stuck in the mode of signing big time free agents, and that's going to continue to be very frustrating for you. That's what's gotten "very old".OldRed wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 18:52 pmNo one wants to read our follies. Most people want a winning team. They don’t care where the players come from, and don’t think you get bonus points for drafting them instead of signing them.Cranny wrote: ↑08 Sep 2025 19:28 pmDoubt that, when I talk about positive progress by some of our minor leaguers. Serious question: If you have him on “ignore” (i.e., Foe List) and therefore allegedly can’t see/read his posts, then how is possible for you to directly quote-reply to him?
See here:And here:As a purely technical matter, it is impossible to directly quote-reply to a post on this forum without first being able to see/read it. How do you explain this apparent discrepancy?I guess this is the rare exception when Cranny doesn’t have to have (and doesn’t want) the last word . . .NYCardsFan wrote: ↑14 Aug 2025 06:41 am But in the two examples I cited, you directly quote-replied to WLTFE within minutes of his post, there was no intervening “chain of posts.” As a purely technical matter, it’s impossible to directly quote-reply to a post on this forum without first being able to see/read it. But if he’s on your Foe List and you were truly ignoring him, you wouldn’t have been able to see those original posts, and therefore you wouldn’t have been able to directly quote-reply to them within minutes.
So once again, if he’s on your Foe List and you’re adhering to the mods’ “demand” that you ignore him, how did you manage to directly quote-reply to him like that?
