That’s kinda like the current roster. Upset now, then all will be forgiven when the team starting winning in ‘27.

Same w the 2014-2015 cubs…
You can’t possibly be surprised by any of his act? LOL
Was I the starting SS who made this comment? Your focus always on me(act) is quite flattering. The GG starting SS makes a comment where he’s obviously not too happy about having a winning team…..indicating they could win out til years end….and management would still trade players.
And somehow this is my ACT…..  Gee I’m sorry I’ve been writing this for weeks now and a PLAYER just said it.
I think CT pretty much has your ACT figured out! LOL

Masyn Winn is expecting the Cardinals to sell. His fellow young veteran leaders are somewhat more circumspect.”

J. Jones

As I’ve been writing most of the season….you don’t tell a group of young competitive athletes who have been winning to sacrifice their very few athletic career winning opportunities because they are “good enough”……when they were good enough for 2.5mths. This team quit because “they knew they could win every game to the end of season and Bloom would still trade guys”
Not sure what more you would need to read…..
So what should he not trade anyone? I guess if Masyn wants to stay a .500 team
This wasn’t a .500 team. They were winning and playing their (bleep) off despite no help from FO in offseason, a chit manager, and being told repeatedly that their teammates who were helping them win……WOULD BE TRADED. This team quit. And why not. The owner and FO gave no support and told them they weren’t good enough.
Good they showed themselves as true losers who could have never won anything anyway and fold at the slightest adversity and shouldn’t be part of any core that has a hope of winning it’s good bloom was able to see them show their true colors
When will it be ownership and FO responsibility to put in the effort and announce when it’s time to put a winning team on the field?? Seems as though many fans and even the PLAYERS would like to know
lol the team could have made it impossible for them to sell by playing well if the cardinals were playing well they could have made it a PR disaster for them to sell and if the cardinals were well positioned to make the post season it’s very doubtful Dewitt would have let him do a sell off knowing they could make more money if they make the post season. Instead they made it very easy to sell the Dewitt’s to support the sell off and the fans to support the sell off lol so they were pretty dumb if they were losing because they were pouting over a potential sell off

Before I form an opinion on this quote, was there any context? Were there any comments prior or after that single sentence? Or was it just a one sentence quote and then he walked away?

For instance was it prefaced with something like, "Bloom has told us all season that this is year 1 of a re-build and we don't currently have the horses or the depth to make a deep playoff run."

..and then the quote.

Or was it prefaced with something like, "Bloom told us if we played well and showed we could compete then he'd change course and add. Turns out he lied to us."

...and then the quote.

Two very different scenarios.

Apparently the players don’t understand this rebuilding. This is what the thread is about. Do you have Winn’s DM so you can explain it to him and his teammates?

Its like you never watched baseball. Teams do this all the time. Stay hot for 60 games...hell the Crew did it just a few years ago and then flailed in the second half.

This was never a good team, just Meh.

That's why I asked the question. If he prefaced it with the first of my made up quotes, it means he knows what the plan is and understands that this is a re-build and the selling was always gonna happen.

If a variation of the second of my made up quotes he would sound (upset).

Ultimately it doesn't matter. You're gonna think the absolute worst because that's who you are, the eternal whining complainer who hates every move the teams makes and every move the team doesn't make. I'd prefer some context before I make a judgment.

The team has been going through the motions and losing badly(see tonight)….and then you see WINN’s comments. I’ll let attempt to piece things together. I wrote weeks ago that you don’t pull the rug on a young team who is competing for the division and leading the WC by telling them it’s not time for them to win…..wait for some magical date in the future. You must be the most clueless fan ever if you think that would go over well with ANY competitive athlete.
