“We could win every game for the rest of the year, and [Chaim Bloom] would still trade guys."
Masyn Winn is expecting the Cardinals to sell. His fellow young veteran leaders are somewhat more circumspect.”
J. Jones
As I’ve been writing most of the season….you don’t tell a group of young competitive athletes who have been winning to sacrifice their very few athletic career winning opportunities because they are “good enough”……when they were good enough for 2.5mths. This team quit because “they knew they could win every game to the end of season and Bloom would still trade guys”
Not sure what more you would need to read…..
So what should he not trade anyone? I guess if Masyn wants to stay a .500 team
This wasn’t a .500 team. They were winning and playing their (bleep) off despite no help from FO in offseason, a chit manager, and being told repeatedly that their teammates who were helping them win……WOULD BE TRADED. This team quit. And why not. The owner and FO gave no support and told them they weren’t good enough.
I want no part of a player that quits
Yet he's not the one who will be traded.
If we have players who get better by adding the right synergies, then maybe play into that strategy, not at cross purposes to it.

If there is somebody out there losing because they are disheartened that management is trying to improve the team, they have their heads screwed on wrong. This is not a real issue.
You should explain in great detail to Winn how he should be agreeable to losing these last few season…..this season….and seasons into the future….and then how wonderful it will be.
The only thing Winn needs explained is that he should play his best and hope his teammates are good enough to win. Leave the managing to the managers. Buzz off drama queen.

This is who the Cardinals are. They are no more a mid market team but now a small market team like Pittsburgh, Tampa, Cleveland and hopefully Milwaukee. The days of 3 million fans and being able to outspend Cincy,Pittsburgh and Milwaukee are over. Ownership sees it and made the move to Bloom with orders to cut the payroll and sell the fans on a brighter future. Accept it or move on.

Looks like a lot of people have moved on.
I don’t think it matters. Fans weren’t showing up earlier this season when they were winning with a young exciting team. The market has changed, Dewitt saw it and made changes in the model that should have been made in 2021.

Maybe because they knew the good start wasn't sustainable.

Remember when Goldfan was upset all offseason about the trades, then he was all giddy when the cards played well their first two months?
That’s kinda like the current roster. Upset now, then all will be forgiven when the team starting winning in ‘27.
Same w the 2014-2015 cubs…
You can’t possibly be surprised by any of his act? LOL

Cards open 20-10 next year, he’ll be the biggest homer

Pathetic whining putz. LOL
He was the kid who took his ball and went home crying or got stuffed in his locker.
Doesn’t have the backbone or mental toughness for sports!
How hurt is Winn’s knee? I think it has impacted his swing all season and the final part of last year.
Trading him would not be a bad idea if a reasonable deal could help. His value might be better after he heals a bit this winter?!

Good they showed themselves as true losers who could have never won anything anyway and fold at the slightest adversity and shouldn’t be part of any core that has a hope of winning it’s good bloom was able to see them show their true colors

Was I the starting SS who made this comment? Your focus always on me(act) is quite flattering. The GG starting SS makes a comment where he’s obviously not too happy about having a winning team…..indicating they could win out til years end….and management would still trade players.
And somehow this is my ACT….. Gee I’m sorry I’ve been writing this for weeks now and a PLAYER just said it.

When will it be ownership and FO responsibility to put in the effort and announce when it’s time to put a winning team on the field?? Seems as though many fans and even the PLAYERS would like to know
