Some think BDW and Bloom are waiting for the new CBA. Others (myself included), think Oli is probably here for a while.

So what do you think, Cards Talkers? What could lead to a managerial change? And who would you like to see get the job?
Oli is here through 2028. Then Bloom will re-assess. He gets another free pass in 2027.
I agree. BDW isn't hiring a guy to manage less than a full season in 2027.

Yea I believed you saw it I questioned the accuracy of the information. I read on a little and someone else cleared it up. Jeff Jones is like Bernie. Take the accuracy of his information at your own risk. Thanks
I would think misinformation or false reporting would end a reporter's access to the team. Maybe not.
I don’t think either one of those guys has "access" to the team. Reporting isn't what it used to be. Guys used to check their sources before printing things. I think now they hear one unsubstantiated rumor and it gets printed. There's still a few guys that don't print things unless they're 100% sure. Than they get made fun of for getting "scooped".
Sure they do. Jones would have access through his position at the Belleville newspaper.
What's your definition of "access" ? They let him in the locker room with a microphone after the game?
Would that not be access? Or he could have contacts within the organization (including oli), that shares info. That is also access. I doubt Jones sits at his desk all day dreaming up stories to write.
I seriously doubt he has contacts within the organization unless he's getting info from really low level employees. They have a contractual obligation to allow credentialed reporters access to the team for a period of time after the game. That wasn't a complimentary thing he put out there about the lineup card. Do you think he would write something like that and risk getting anything but short answers to questions he asks if he WAS actually getting any type of real information? Especially from Oli. The players don't like a lot of these guys. The ones they do are respectful of their space and situation after tough games. They're the ones who get good information for readers.
He has been credited with breaking too many stories in the past to not have access. National guys have credited Jones. The lineup card is not some story slamming oli. And I cant imagine cards players having many issues with the weak (donkey) StL media.

Best I can do. This from Incarcerated Bob. Have a nice evening.
Ok, I attempted to research but am getting conflicting info. Is this the same Jeff Jones that robbed a bank?!
Yes. Look at the picture of IB. He has a cardinals hat on.
It is metro east area. A StL hat wouldn't be unusual. But if it is the same Jeff Jones, I'd be shocked he had access to the press box at Busch.
Dig deeper. It's common knowledge.

Oli is here as long as he wants to be if he remains cheaper to ownership. DeWallet runs this like a business. If he can get by with spending less and still make a profit between the team and BPV, he will go on the cheap.

Yea honestly I was trying not to go there. You are supposed to have second chances in life. But without expounding on it, I'm not the only one who questions Jones's sources. That's why I asked about where you saw it in the first place. It didn't sound right.

Not defending Jones because I am unfamiliar with him and his work. I only saw the post pop up under some Cardinals stuff I was looking at.
