Re: Serious Managerial Question
The Marmol haters will be saying the exact same things about the new Manager, whenever that comes. You were saying the same things about TLR, Matheny and Shildt. Therefore, it doesn't matter who the Manager is, you will all feel the same way.
This team would not be much better or much worse with anyone else leading this team. Managers only matter in the playoffs. During the regular season, a team is only as good as the roster. A good Manager will not manage a bad team to the playoffs. Good teams can carry a bad Manager however.
Roster, roster, roster. That's the only thing that matters until October. Keep on complaining though. Fans bashing the Manager dates back to the beginning of baseball. It's about as dumb as believing a politician's campaign promises.

As anyone could have predicted, with a gassed BP that wasn't very good to start with, july and august were going to be rough.
They've been terrible since game 1/162. That's a fact.
The bullpen is bad and you have a mentally ill manager who is bound and determined to use as many of them as possible every single game.

Where did you see that?JuanAgosto wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 22:37 pmI saw where Jeff Jones reported today's lineup was a mistake. That Herrerea was supposed to bat 2nd and Walker 4th. But oli turned in an erroneous card.Chitownredbird wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 22:31 pm IMO he’s here until Bloom thinks he’s given him a roster that should win but Oli continues with his mismanagement of the pen and idiotic lineups. Yea I believed you saw it I questioned the accuracy of the information. I read on a little and someone else cleared it up. Jeff Jones is like Bernie. Take the accuracy of his information at your own risk. Re: Serious Managerial Question
Let me guess, you were one of the guys last year who wanted Marmol to burn those starters after four so the bullpen could get the last five innings? And then would've clutched all the pearls once they were toasted in June?WeWentBlues0819 wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 16:41 pmThe things aren't mutually exclusive.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 16:03 pmOur bullpen was doomed from the start. I doubt he gets fired. Like you said DeWitt is loyal. As long as Oli remains a good soldier, he'll be reassigned somewhere in the minors where I think he can do some good. Young players seem to respond to him.Melville wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 08:05 amBest take in the thread.imyourhuckleberry wrote: ↑26 Jul 2026 22:27 pm He's here until Bloom think the team is ready to compete. Nice post.
I would add that DeWitt is famously loyal.
It is why The Marmot was hired and why he is still here.
Same as Shildt.
And then Shildt got fired when he tried to be something more than a yes man.
The Marmot learned from that and intentionally chose to comply.
But Super Slo Mo is no longer around to protect him from failure and incompetence.
You are correct - Bloom will fire him once DeWitt permits it.

So a manager can win 9inning BASEBALL GAMES in the postseason but not in the regular season. Please outline your logic. Do they receive special powers once the PS starts?woofy25 wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 16:29 pm The Marmol haters will be saying the exact same things about the new Manager, whenever that comes. Also, Shildt was fired because he was a total tool to his staff. See San Diego.
This has been documented despite the false narrative spewed on cards talk by #dooshville and #fraudrocko.

I disagree. When Bloom determines the re-build is over and the push is ready to begin, he'll bring in his own guy.riff raff wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 17:53 pmUmmm... we have a team of young players. I'll either be wrong or I'll be right. My guess is 2028 although it could be 2029 depending on the length of the lockout. The longer it goes the less likely they'll be ready to contend in '28.
We'll see.

I would think misinformation or false reporting would end a reporter's access to the team. Maybe not.2ninr wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 16:53 pmYea I believed you saw it I questioned the accuracy of the information. I read on a little and someone else cleared it up. Jeff Jones is like Bernie. Re: Serious Managerial Question
I don’t think either one of those guys has "access" to the team. Reporting isn't what it used to be. Guys used to check their sources before printing things. I think now they hear one unsubstantiated rumor and it gets printed. There's still a few guys that don't print things unless they're 100% sure. Than they get made fun of for getting "scooped".JuanAgosto wrote: ↑27 Jul 2026 18:11 pmI would think misinformation or false reporting would end a reporter's access to the team.
