11 is an absolute non starter for McTavish. No way Army moves pick 11 unless we are getting more than McTavish.UMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:00 amWhat if we offered 11 and BuchWilliamWestcliffe wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 07:57 am I would 100% roll the dice on McTavish.
That said if the Blues really offered #11 we’d be talking about this trade in past tense.
NYR supposedly offered #26. If its taking Anaheim this long to decide, I’m guessing Blues are offering #29+.

Agreed. The 11 spot is the pivot point to trade up or draft the one stud player that slips.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:10 am 11 is an absolute non starter for McTavish. No way Army moves pick 11 unless we are getting more than McTavish.

I hope you are right but per Friedman on 32 thoughts pod this morning, Blues offered #11Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:10 am11 is an absolute non starter for McTavish. He took over 750 face offs last year, was 22 when the season startedTBone wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:09 amIf he's not a center or a poor one, where would he slot in as a LW? 2nd line? 3rd line? And do we want a LW at $7 mil x 5 for 20 goals?
It feels like a younger Buchnevich unless the Blues have a real way to fix his deficiencies as a center. Hope they've got it figured out.

I'm not buying this rumor, but yeah, I find it highly unlikely that Army trades pick #11 BEFORE seeing who is there. Tonight, after the first 10 picks? Maybe then, but I'm still skeptical.TBone wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:15 amAgreed. Whoever they pick is going to take years to make a difference in the NHL. Moving 11 (who might not make the NHL) for a sure-fire center on a team that wants to compete now is good business for the Blues.Frank Underwood wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:19 amI'm not buying this rumor, but yeah, I find it highly unlikely that Army trades pick #11 BEFORE seeing who is there. people still thinking of Dean as an asset? stopUMR-alum-05 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026 21:08 pmPersonally I like Pius, for me it's you gotta give to get, and also I don't see him as part of the plan here after this year. He's what going to be 30 and a free agent. The Blues have plenty of players standing by to try and fill that role from Dube (if they sign him), to Kaskimaki, to Dean.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑25 Jun 2026 21:02 pm why are we including Suter in every single trade offer? He's making 4.5 can score, is excellent defensively can play center or wing on the 3rd or 4th line, and is a great teammate.
Why would be looking to get rid of that?
If he helps get you McTavish, makes sense to me to move him.

I agree with those comments. I have no problem acquiring McTavish......but it would be unlike Army to do it now. He would want to wait and see how the draft plays out, who slips, or what team in the top 10 might decide to trade down with the Blues.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:23 amWhoever they pick is going to take years to make a difference in the NHL. Last I saw the Ducks are also asking for a prospect to be included with that 1st.

Apparently the Blues offer for MacTavish INCLUDES the 11th overall pick according to Friedman

I was trying to gauge Tim’s thoughts on if Anaheim would sweeten the deal if he could get on board. Obviously he said no.TBone wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:09 amIf he's not a center or a poor one, where would he slot in as a LW? 2nd line? 3rd line? And do we want a LW at $7 mil x 5 for 20 goals?

For me I only want McTavish on two conditions; if our scouts/coaches are sure he can stick at C, and if the cost is not one of our first three picks. Pick 29 and a tier 2 prospect works for me.

Armstrong stockpiles draft pick bullets going after guys, and trades don’t materialize so he has to overpay for guys by using higher picks.
I don’t think anyone asked “what if” this week and trades don’t materialize. Then what?
Mason MacTavish for the 11th pick is asinine. Don’t overpay to save face. Which is exactly what Armstrong will do on his way out the door

trying to force the team to be competitive now is a bad move. just bc the hawks (bleep) up the blues don’t need to do the same.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:23 amWhoever they pick is going to take years to make a difference in the NHL. I’m fine with one of 15 or 16. Please no to 11. Sigh. Statistically it might be a small difference but take your best shot in the draft please. We don’t even know who is going to be available there yet.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑26 Jun 2026 08:37 am Apparently the Blues offer for MacTavish INCLUDES the 11th overall pick according to Friedman
Edit: for instance if it’s 15/16 then the rationale is basically Faulk or Kyrou for McTavish (and McMichael in the case of the Kyrou deal). I can live with that.

If you’re not getting true game changers with these draft picks. Just go into the draft and see what’s there when you’re up and work the phones then.
