I'm good with using one mid first on a guy who two years ago had 52 points and 52% faceoffs. Who by the way has a contract.
And is still only 23.
He was a healthy scratch in the playoffs. Why?
Can't skate lacks intensity, LW, why not lol let's hope Servelli is wrong as usual unless it's #29 plus Druoin I guess

Why would be looking to get rid of that?
Because we don't need him.
We've got wing depth coming out the wazoo right now(Holloway, Snuggy, Buch, Neighbours, McMichael, Suter, Drouin, Berggren, Stenberg plus Carbonneau coming soon) and have a pretty glaring need for a #2 center.

If Suter needs to be included in a trade to get a #2 center, you do it.
MacTavish is probably the best center we can get right now(Larkin won't wave his NTC for us and EP carries too much baggage for me to consider him "better").
I've asked why people are throwing him in every single trade offer, not this very one specifically. They are throwing him for wingers, defenseman, hell I think they'd throw him in we were rumored to be in on a few bags of popcorn.

I don't get the hate for the guy. I understand the reasoning to Anaheim for McTavish, but anyone else? Not really.

And what's up with the Connor Zary tweet are we in on every left handed 3rd liner available? It's crazy season

I gotta be honest I'm doing this all day.

The team has the cap space, the need for a center, the guy has a contract, he fits the style we want to play, we have the draft picks.

Yes there are some risks. If there weren't he wouldn't be available.

Let's do it.

Because we have kids we want to make room for is my guess. Assuming we acquire a better center where do you put suter?

Id honestly rather spend less and get Peyton Krebs not that I know he's available but he plays center, hits, skates could land 50 pts with good forwards played very well in the playoffs

I agree with you.
A Healthy scratch by Coach Q in the playoffs doesn,t sound good to me.

Suter can't win faceoffs. He's not a center. He's a fill in center.

Poor defensive play.

Nobody's saying he doesn't have some warts.
But 23 year old center's with decent size, proven 50+ point skill and a moderately long term deal don't hit the market very often. I'm not willing to pay an absolute premium for him; but 15 or 16 and some of our spare depth pieces isn't what I'd consider a "premium". And he could be a really good fit here given that we could shelter him in terms of defensive responsibility with Buch.

Zary has a lot of untapped potential. He’s highly skilled, Calgary hasn’t used him correctly. Former Flame Rhett Warrener said it’s on the Flames.

I wasn't aware we needed another 3C. Guess if its for 29+Suter+Ralph I'd be okay with it.

#15 or #16 in the 1st rnd + is a premium get for Anaheim why spend that kind of capital for a guys that's likely a 3rd liner and again maybe not a center? I get it there is potential there is too much risk are we saying this is the only center we can land this summer?

Then Steen has a lot of work to do to move out the ton of other bottom 6 LWers.

I’m not sure I’d give more than the 29th pick and some depth players like a Suter. As far as skating looking at the edge stats he’s has a bit more speed than Dvorsky and definitely more speed than Suter.

He’s a natural center, he just needs to play there
