I think we all know the reason for our large American cities becoming crime ridden hell holes…..just can’t write about it here

They all have thousands of more people than that smaller cities. Even if the % of crooks if the same in both small and big cities, the number is far larger in the big city.

Why did they say 2?

They were amazed how low it was.

Is 30 ytd or last year?

Cities are scary, aren't they, Red?
You sound like a 25-year-old who has never been anywhere. I've been to 49 states and many, many major cities and have attended over 200 MLB games and probably 50 NFL games and I was never worried about crime. I walked blocks to games at old Busch on Grand and never thought a thing about crime. But as one gets older, we are all little more cautious of our surroundings. As I originally pointed it is the job of the Police to make the areas feel safe. When I worked downtown at the old Globe [political party] there would be a patrolman at night that would walk you to your car for safety. All I did was report the story. I guess everyone has to make their own choices. I would not attend a night game at this age unless I take the Metro-Link.
If you're as street smart and urban experienced as you claim to be, you shouldn't be sweating bullets about some car break-ins. Oh, the humanity! Grow a backbone.

I used to live in Detroit, and my car got stolen from in front of my home. And my wife and I lived in Seattle in a great neighborhood near Green Lake, and our home was burglarized twice. And we didn't cry and whine about it. Life in the big city, no matter where.

30 so far this year… 141 last year

Maybe they were limiting the discussion to downtown?
