I still think the Bolts may add a RHD to round that veteran group out.
Detroit will also look to add a RHD
If CP55 approves, does Army keep Faulk to play big minutes on the right side and hold the hands of the youngsters next year?
A trade that might make us better in 5 years is not a great trade.

Well, our gentle giant traded for a younger, more active version of himself, by 14 years, plus a first. Thank you Jarmo.

what happens when Parayko would have went to Utah; but Doug took the Buffalo deal over the Utah deal. and then Utah took Weegar because they lost out on Parayko.
just having fun with it.

My thought is he other meat on the burner to fill some of the holes this creates while setting up a dynamic right side of Mrtka, Jiricek & #23
At least if this trade happens we dont have to bash our heads wondering what the plan is.
Im excited

I have no idea that 3 dmen with a combined less than 100 games in the NHL would allow fewer goals than the one we currently have?

Wasn’t expecting this, but I like the return. Looks like we’re rebuilding. It’s good to be moving in a clear direction instead of being stuck in no man’s land.

that's the part that makes even less sense, why would be selling off?Bubble4427 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:32 pmIf the Blues are selling off…why have Parayko on the team for the next 4 years when we will suck for at least 2 of those. yeaaahhhh, notice the, we won't be trying to go for it for a bit. That is true. This isn't turning around overnight. You don't hold 32 year olds so that in a few years, when we should be competitive, you got a 35 year old on the verge of retiring.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:32 pmThere's a grand canyons difference between doing well in the AHL and getting top pairing minutes in the NHLclemonsonroots wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:25 pmmore like a couple of years...Mrtka already doing very well at 19 in the ahl...likely makes the team next season as does Jiricek...we are not going to be going for it for a bit.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:20 pmYes i don't understand this potential trade because we don't have anyone good enough to take his place. Don’t know much about Mrtka, but with regards to Jiricek, he’s not making the Blues next year. If anything, he gets a cup of coffee, but he needs time in the AHL.clemonsonroots wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:25 pm more like a couple of years...Mrtka already doing very well at 19 in the ahl...likely makes the team next season as does Jiricek...we are not going to be going for it for a bit.

Has Jack Burton been frozen in time? He thinks we are a cup contender?
Re: Parayko going to Buffalo if approves
He still isn't even 19 until June.clemonsonroots wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:25 pm more like a couple of years...Mrtka already doing very well at 19 in the ahl...likely makes the team next season as does Jiricek...we are not going to be going for it for a bit.

+1. We need to remember it took Broberg a few years of AHL development & shuffling to become the defenseman he is turning into. It'll take Mrtka (if we even get him), Jiricek, and Lindstein a year or two in the AHL to develop.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:36 pmDon’t know much about Mrtka, but with regards to Jiricek, he’s not making the Blues next year. Maybe they get some games in between and show us flashes of what they can do (like Jiricek did this past preseason).

Wow, if it happens there's a lot to take in.
First, solid return but Colton is a VERY solid top pairing defensive defender (with a great contract) so this should be the package.
Second, we have NO ONE that can skate his minutes. A lot of folks just don't understand how much ice he skates, and how many errors from other players he covers for. Not saying we shouldn't take this package, but this IMO is a complete rebuild move.
Finally, it now makes me believe that there could be something to the Thomas rumors, as it's going to be at least 3 years (probably 5) before I consider us a consistent competitive hockey team...

I am going to +1 this as well. We need to be bad next year and our young guys need a year in the AHL. We need to bring them slowly and I would prefer at once for most of them. This would allow us to make another top pick next year.Boomac wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026 17:44 pm +1.
