A team like Ott, Col, Edm and maybe even the Rangers would be good landing places where the captain wouldn’t except mediocre efforts from Kyrou. Maybe add Pittsburgh to that list.
we aren't trading him to Colorado. There's absolutely no way he's traded in division. I'd say New York is a possibility, definitely not Pitt they have nothing of value to trade, Ottawa doesn't have much, and Edmonton we've beaten to death about their lack of trade fodder.
If he's traded it has to be someone of equal value with term on his contract and there just aren't many of those other there.
I think they will trade him to whoever gives the best package and he’s willing to go there. Not every team will be interested in trading for him.
Unfortunately, the entire league knows what Kyrou is. The Blues won't get anywhere close to what the experts on this board believe it to be. Army and Steen know what his value is across the league. Why do you think Montreal and Buffalo turned the Blues down when he was dangled in the Mailloux and Dobson deals? At this point, I think the Blues are just hoping that he figures it out. But I would have to think that his leash is getting shorter and shorter ... and another healthy scratch is looming.
He's still scored 25+ including 3 seasons of 30 goals 3 out of the last 4 years with 6 years left on a below market contract. Experts or not that kind of player isn't going to just return a prospect or pick. He will get value in return.
Honest question: If Kyrou has all of this game breaking talent ... why doesn't his talent take over a game when it counts? I don't recall witnessing a game where his speed and talent has made a difference for a full sixty minutes. A game where his speed backs off the D. A game where every shift finds him to be a scoring threat. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Whether or not we see it regularly doesn't change anything. There's a GM/s out there who likely feel he could be a missing piece, or they can with their players take him to the next level.
He could be the next Zach Hyman, or the next Chris Stewart. Either way I think the game Monday night was his swan song. I imagine he's being actively shopped at this moment. He and Monty obviously don't get along. I appreciate the fact he stayed here to rehab but it's becoming more and more obvious this is no longer a fit for him or for the team.

Yeah I'm highly questioning that as well. Never has a player said the environment was toxic at any point.
Out of those 3 the Devils are probably the best option for a hockey trade, the other two would be draft picks or prospects and that's not anything Army wants the main parts to be.
"NHL insider Chris Johnston"

"Chris Johnston" is the guy who collects the widows on the bottom of the popcorn popper. (Those kernels are phenomenal!)
"the chatter is heating up" means repeating on a web forum
Aside from that, I'm guessing there are 31 teams "interested" in a guy, who other posters have said, is in his prime, scores 30-40 and is "cheap" at 8.1 million.
and is signed for 6 more seasons. By the time his contract is up he'll be underpaid by about 5 million or so
What would make him underpaid?
Hes pacing for 41 pts at 8 million per.
His defense and compete level are lousy. How is he underpaid?
Very hard guy to trade as of now.

If he gets to his regular numbers which he has produced all but this one season (at this point) he is underpaid.

Stop. Many have. Kyrou is not a lone wolf in that regard. Many top wingers have been scratched and then traded soon after. It happens quite often in the NHL.

How many have a cup winning coach publicly state that they don’t care about the team?
They’ve been open to trading him for years now…everyone knows this
Hopefully he is done soon. Kyrou is one of the softest goal scorers I've ever seen, at any level of hockey. He's terrified of being touched. Let's not even mention the fast skating mammoth in Parayko, who is also afraid to touch people. This team needs an actual rebuild like the Cardinals are doing. Bad decisions after the cup equals a lot of turd players.

you don't think high paid players in the past have been healthy scratches? You think he is the first ever?

Back in the 1990s, a hockey-newbie and I went to Blues-As game. He knew a two names: Joe Sakic and Brett Hull.
One was scratched that night.
On the plus side, Blues won 4-3 (I think). Our seats were second bowl, paralleling Avs blue line. Chopper did a double take at point while dragging puck across high slot. Teed it up, and Patrick Roy reacted to the puck bouncing OUT of the net. In hindsight, probably saw close to 10 HOF-ers that night.

For a brief time in that Keenan era, Blues fielded (or could have fielded) an all-HOF starting lineup with Hull, 99, Anderson or Hawerchuk (can't remember timing of their stints), Pronger, Chopper and Fuhr.

And Chris McAlpine!
Anderson was on the team but if I remember correctly Hawerchuk didn't even make it a full season. Signed that year as a UFA, then traded before the deadline.

I defer to your memory!
And Dave Christian was in the mix at some point. Not a HOFer, but family made a line of sticks for a time.
