12 goals for the "lowly" Predators in 2 games against the Blues.

I comprehend just fine.

It’s just a weird mindset to want to make the playoff and get swept and get a mid round pick that’s 3-4 years away if at all rather than get an almost sure thing at the top of a pretty strong draft.

You essentially get nothing in the first scenario and the season was a waste.
Which is exactly what the poster you quoted said. Try reading it a little slower.

I don’t understand this mindset.

Explain why you’d rather essentially get nothing out of this season, rather than have a (potentially) star player with the high end talent we need at the end of it.
You obviously didn't watch the last place blues who drafted the franchise changing Eric Johnson...
He was the consensus #1 pick by EVERYONE.

Whoever got the #1 pick was taking Johnson
So clearly having a high draft pick leads fo dynasties.

I know, right. It's like the offensive rush is where the Blues go to die. I'd say 9 out of 10 offensive rushes either end with a turnover or a dump and chase that yields neither shot nor pressure and often just comes right back down their own throat.

Not even enjoyable to watch anymore.
You actually are allowed to stop watching if you want. It's a pretty new rule they made AFAIK
Smart (donkey) stuff. Why Dalton? Why? You can stop posting as well. It's not great hockey and it invites some criticism. Just stop man.
The poster said it's not enjoyable to watch anymore. Why would you do something that doesn't bring you enjoyment? Life is too short.
Because he's a Blues hockey fan, thats why. It might not turn around this year but it could. We, as Blues fans aren't quitters. We love the organization and the team. Why would anybody quit watching? It's part of our lives Daltons. Yours too. There's nothing wrong with criticizing the team when they play poorly.
I'm not sure where you got that I have issue with criticizing them? I do it plenty. But I also, in spite of the rough stretch, enjoy watching the team.

If given the choice, I generally don't do things that I don't find enjoyable, though, so it's hard for me to understand why others would choose otherwise.

It's really not a big deal.
I don't think he really meant that he doesnt enjoy it. I bet he's just frustrated with the play of the team this year. There's nothing wrong with getting frustrated in this teams play. Just don't blast people for being frustrated. Thats my point. You are a good dude as far as im concerned. I just hate the unwarranted criticism on here. No worries here. I apologize if I came off too harsh.
I honestly had no intention of blasting. I just meant it as a genuine reminder that it's ok to step back occasionally. Taking a little break does not make you less of a fan.
It's all good Daltons. It's all good my friend. Maybe I said too much. I just want posters to be more forgiving of other posters opinions. You boys sleep well and I cant wait til next game to hear from you Knuckleheads!!

I was around for that. And the unfortunate reality of the situation was we sucked one season too late for the Crosby draft and one season too early for the Kane draft.

This Preds team picked top 5 last year right? There isn’t a team in a worst spot than them in the NHL in terms of their next 5 years

I would like to say it is because we are down 5 forwards, but the team just doesn’t have any energy. This team plays with no emotion. Schenn tried to get some with the fight, but outside of that there were no big hits, no hard fought scrum in the crease, etc…

I had to look it up because otherwise I wouldn't believe it. Their goal differential is -37 which is double digits more than the next worse. I'm trying to remain positive because like most of us here I'm a Blues fan but I don't see how they can get better this year. To quote cubs fans for more than a century wait till next year or the next year...

(bleep) that was painful. ROR making the blues look like beer leaguers. You’d never think the preds were bottom of the barrel team. They look good. Good position, breakouts, swarm the puck, win most of the puck battles, know how to shoot instead of 10 passes,…

In fairness, most teams know how to shoot the puck. It's only the Blues who have a policy of every player on the ice touching the puck twice before maybe shooting. It's like those stories about junior teams beating their opponent so bad that the coach makes them pass so many times before shooting. Except the Blues are usually the ones getting their (bleep) kicked.
