Buch has had the hockey yips for going on two full seasons now.
At first he was just snakebit and couldn't seem to get anything to go in for him. That snowballed and made him reluctant to shoot the puck at all, and any time he does it looks like he's forgotten how. Now he struggles mightily pretty much any time the puck is on his stick in any situation. It is bizarre, and the only thing similar I can even think of is Brad Boyes, who went from a 40-goal scorer to like 10 supposedly because they discontinued the stick pattern he liked.
Something has to get figured out. They have no adequate replacement for him right now, but if he needs to sit a while for Texier or something, I'm all for it. Get him a sports psychiatrist.

If you are shopping a car lemon, do you take it off the lot, or do you put it up front and act like it is sliced bread?

The contract was under water the second it was signed as Buch was already in decline. Don’t trade away pics or good assets to dump this turd.Backesdraft wrote: ↑19 Nov 2025 07:55 amWould it be addition by subtraction? Because at this point we aren’t getting anything of value back for Buch. Would everyone be comfortable with the trade off simply being the removal of his contract?Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑18 Nov 2025 22:37 pm I’m wondering if Monty is displaying him hoping for a trade or if he’s trying to force Army to move him.
I would, but IF he’s traded it won’t be anything but a salary dump. Hell, we might have to throw in a draft pick to get some other team to take him off our hands.
The best move is a real rebuild (what should’ve happened 3 seasons ago and would be nearing its end ) which means sell all players 25 and over who have good trade value. Sit on Buch until his status improves (like Faulk now).
