LoL. Oli gets blamed for the reviews of close plays. Hell, I think CT blames him for rain and humidityOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 09:21 amMy opinion this is what is happening. It’s a win win for scenario for Molina but probably lose lose for oli if the cardinals surprise people and are better than expected Molina will get credit for it and if they suck again oli will get the blameramfandan wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:47 amWell Yadier could be looking at it this way too. I don't need any assurance as it's a win-win for me. Either after 2026, I get the Cardinals managerial job OR if Oli remains I will get manager job offers from others as now I have a full year as coach in the MLB . I can't lose either scenario.rockondlouie wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:41 am^^^THIS^^^
Would be the ONLY reason Yadi would consider caddying for a Manager w/a much lower baseball IQ than Yadi.
No way he takes this job w/o some assurances from C. Bloom that he's at least a very serious candidate to replace Oli in 2027.
Plus he'd be there daily to work w/I. Hererra.
I'll believe it when it happens.
JMO
He can never win with CT
Coaches seem to get free pases because CT doesn't understand rolls of coaches vs manager
What exactly would Yadi be coach of???

Opinions vary…..you are entitled to your own..ecleme22 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 10:08 amYou’re the same guy who claimed McGee being named the bench coach was all about ticket sales.45s wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 09:24 am two points
there is already a hot controversy about the skills and talent of the current manager....
so....they bring in a guy...who is already popular with some....to look over his shoulder......talk about tossing some gas on the fire
the other day the question on the board was whether bloom would be effective....
I made the point that my question was whether he had autonomy on all baseball decisions.......or would he still be subject to the whims of the marketing and ticket office
well....here is the answer.....this has ticket office written all over it
Your assertions are weak.
I seldom agree with Mel…..but his thought that the club is a marketing company with a baseball department is seeming more and more accurate…
I have now exhausted my interest in this subject….

If this comes to fruition...terrible idea.
If we are limiting ourselves to former Cardinals (why does stl only focus on internal/former player options) I'd rather have Pujols. Whatever the fck Marmol is being paid is a rounding error in the grand scheme of things & shouldn't be a major factor in this decision process.

You guys think maybe Dirty Dan is heading to Texas to be a coach for Schumaker?
Then, they would move Yadi into his spot?
I like Daniel D and would hate to see him or Jay go.
Life long fan here... if 2027 is likely to be wiped out by the lockout, and we get more of the same like the 2025 season ?rebuild?, I'd prefer to let Oli finish up, say thank you, and prep for 2028.

Oli got a 3 year extension to feel no pressure to win, so maybe Bloom is now giving him the opposite treatment. If so, Bloom definitely scores some brownie points with me. The guy should have been fired over a year ago but tight wad Bill wasn't going to eat the rest of that little ole salary.
Re: Yadier Molina in talks to join Marmol's staff as full-time coach
The Yadi worship is over the top among Cardinal nation
He basically quit on the Cardinals his last year and then didn’t show up for spring training to help out catchers, he never groomed his replacements
Let Yadi cut his teeth managing in minors if he is serious

What?
#1 you're stating he needs help, and #2 the clarification that he's still the manager is as conspicuous as Nixon telling us he's not a crook.
That said I'd be all for it![]()

It would be nice to have Molina's fire and knowledge in the dugout. Let's hope it happens.ramfandan wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:14 am According to reports, Molina is now in talks to join the Cardinals as a full-time coach for the 2026 season.

Bloom’s decisions are like an ink blot test. Ppl read into it what they want.
Retains Oli: “oh well I guess nothing is going to change! Different POBO same result!”
Considers adding Yadi: “oh I see now. Bloom is just doing this to sell tickets!”

If an agreement is made, hope is a legitimate one and not the usual "Publicity" move

The STL Cardinals are part of a billion dollar industry. In THEORY they are owned, led, and managed by competent MLB professionals.
Yet the Cardinal brain trust:
1. Extends the Marmot so he does not get butt hurt when he fails. As if the clod will run to other MLB teams and bad mouth the Cardinal organization.
2. Lets the MO Ran run the 2025 team cus supposedly he has inside knowledge to fix the FUBAR he created. Of course was failure.
3. NOW, possibly bringing on YM “ to help Marmol. He’s still the manager, but I’d be there by his side.”
In short, supposedly competent adults cannot: Move the MO RAN, the architect of their failure, to supreme janitor of the stadium and let actual MLB decisions take place a year earlier. Nor can they fire a fake manager but (possibly) want to bring in a Cardinal icon to do what exactly??
People who make 6-7 figures in salary a year and cannot fire incompetent people are themselves a product of the Peter Principle.

I agree that Molina didn't help young catchers when he played. I think things would be different now that he would be their coach.
