Yadier Molina in talks to join Marmol's staff as full-time coach
According to reports, Molina is now in talks to join the Cardinals as a full-time coach for the 2026 season.
In a story published on el Vocero, a publication out of Puerto Rico, Molina could rejoin the team next season as a member of Marmol's coaching staff. "Right now, we're in contact with St. Louis to coach the Cardinals and help Mármol. He's still the manager, but I'd be there by his side. Nothing is concrete yet, but we're working on it," Molina told EL VOCERO , without specifying the exact role he would play.

It would be a good move if they are planning to move Herrera back to catching.

#1 you're stating he needs help, and #2 the clarification that he's still the manager is as conspicuous as Nixon telling us he's not a crook.
That said I'd be all for it

I had the same question. Sort of weird phrasing. Maybe translation issue. Not an Oli fan necessarily but I don’t like situations where managers are looking over their shoulder.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:19 am“ to help Marmol. Well, he could have been more conspicuous I guess if Molina said ...he's still the manager YET , but I'd be there by his side.3dender wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:28 amlol yeah that is a hilariously weird thing to say.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:19 am“ to help Marmol. Translation back to Spanish:
Marmol no es un manager.
Es un persona que dice si senor, nada mas.
Pujols and Molina babysat that dude in 2022.
On his own, you see the outcome.

^^^THIS^^^
Would be the ONLY reason Yadi would consider caddying for a Manager w/a much lower baseball IQ than Yadi.
No way he takes this job w/o some assurances from C. Bloom that he's at least a very serious candidate to replace Oli in 2027.
Plus he'd be there daily to work w/I. Hererra.
I'll believe it when it happens.

Re: Yadier Molina in talks to join Marmol's staff as full-time coach
Well Yadier could be looking at it this way too. I don't need any assurance as it's a win-win for me. Either after 2026, I get the Cardinals managerial job OR if Oli remains I will get manager job offers from others as now I have a full year as coach in the MLB . I can't lose either scenario.rockondlouie wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 08:41 am^^^THIS^^^

But I started posting in 2022 that Yadi would one day Manage the Cardinals and I still believe it could happen.
Unlike the previous three clowns Mo hired, I'm not concerned about Yadi not having MLB managerial experience given TLR/Dunc' said he's the smartest player either had ever been around, knows how to run a pitching staff and got a Phd in managing playing eight years for Hall of Famer TLR.
I also wonder now if it was C. Bloom who talked Yadi into coming in and being in uniform those weekends?
Unless Bloom could magically pull K. Cash out of TB, I'd rather have Yadi than some minor league Manager.
