As opposed to the 12 ER in 36 IP with STL.
Finally, a trade where the Cards aren't the immediate loser lol
Baez and Dohm look promising. Based on that promise alone, that already makes this a rare win for them.
Helsley has given up 11 ER in 10.1 IP for NYM

Yeah, Helsley is not a keeper long-term.Jobu's Rum wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 01:45 am As opposed to the 12 ER in 36 IP with STL.

Mets won't resign him either.
He also won't get the big payday he was expecting.
Should have traded him last offseason for more.

He's very talented, just too much anxiety.

It was reported here that Helsley wanted a “Josh Hader” type deal.Bully4you wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 02:24 amYeah, Helsley is not a keeper long-term.Jobu's Rum wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 01:45 am As opposed to the 12 ER in 36 IP with STL.

He’ll be lucky to get any multi-year deal.
1. Thank goodness they didn’t keep him and offer a QO to “get the draft pick”. He would have accepted the QO so fast the ink wouldn’t have dried before he signed.
2. Agree with your last sentence.

He isn't going to have to take a minor league deal. C'mon, guy!!Jobu's Rum wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 02:45 amBully4you wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 02:24 amYeah, Helsley is not a keeper long-term.Jobu's Rum wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 01:45 am As opposed to the 12 ER in 36 IP with STL.

He faced 4 batters against the Tigers yesterday and allowed 1 run on 2 hits on just 5 pitches before he was removed.

Do they though? So far Baez has a .676 OPS at A+. So that's a long way to go to even reach the majors, and if he makes it, doesn't he currently project as just another MIer who doesn't have a MOTO bat?Jobu's Rum wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 01:45 am As opposed to the 12 ER in 36 IP with STL.
