Henrik Zetterberg was robbed of the Calder Trophy.netboy65 wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 17:50 pmJackman’s biggest crime is he was born 10-20 years too late. Had he played in the 80’s even early 90’s he may have been a perennial all-star. That era suited his game betterManitobaBlues wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 15:20 pm Jackman was a powder puff, that guy had more bad games than he had good games. Tucker is going to be the same.

They didn't trade Bolduc for Mailloux for him to spend any substantial time sitting and watching. If he's not ready for the Blues they'll send him down. Might be helpful to pair him up with Ryan Suter for a while, but what to do with Tucker? Things to sort out.zamadoo wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 19:53 pmDid you read the OP? He's talking about how we need another guy like Tucker, who barely made the Blues roster last season, only playing in 26, 26, and 38 games between the ages of 22-24. Yes, he says the Blues need a Barrett Jackman, but, as seattle pointed out, Jackman would hardly be considered a good defenseman in today's game, and the point is that we need a big body who is physical, and that is Mailloux 100%.
Mailloux has had a longer path but is only 22 and rounded out his game in the AHL last season. My point is that he represents a big body who bangs, but who can also skate and has some offense to his game.
I'm not expecting too much from him, but I have higher hopes than you do. My guess is he will play substantially more than he will watch Kessel play in his spot that Army said was his to lose.

Ryan Suter? I don’t think he’s coming back.
Re: The Blues Need A Barrett Jackman
I worry people are expecting him to fail and never become a solid player without even giving him a chance. People who understand the game and his situation understand he's very young, had an off-ice issue that cost him development time and are willing to give him that time back to develop.

I'm left depending 100% upon the Blue evaluation of this player and of course his own maturing in the process. If he's on ice opening night I'll be thrilled.

There are quite a few very knowledgeable people on this forum. But in the end, I'll take the knowledge of the management of our professional hockey team over any poster on this or any other forum. Evaluation mistakes happen with EVERY SINGLE TEAM, but they have data we don't, and they actually talk to the players and their coaches before making decisions. Information none of us have or likely will ever have.dhsux wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 08:46 amYeah it's a hard read right now.SRV1990 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 08:33 amI worry people are expecting him to fail and never become a solid player without even giving him a chance.
