The blind hatred over anything Oli is pretty funny.
It all began 2022 Game 1 against the Phils; pulling Quintana was idiotic. Then, trying to get 2 innings out of Helsley because of his earlier blunder when the guy had jammed a finger on his throwing hand just 3 days before was equally dumb. To make matters worse, when asked postgame, he said "everything went to script until that last inning." You can't script a regular season game, much less a playoff game.
He's made a terrible habit out of pulling starters too early when they're cruising, overusing BP arms, overplaying L/R matchups, subbing in ancient vets with small sample size history over hot hitters, and musical chairs with the lineup.
That hatred was well deserved. But I'll admit, he's either learned or changed or something because he's not making the same mistakes over and over again this season.
Sonny throwing a complete game and Libby pitching into the 7th would have never happened before this season. Overall, a fine job thus far.
Sonny pitching a CG was only allowed because of an extremely low PC. If he was anywhere near 100, hed have yanked him faster than VSII gets down the line. He doesn't have the feel of a game to make decisions in the heat of the moment based on in-game factors. If it isn't pre-planned, he can’t handle it.
How did Fedde get a 109 pitch CG shutout earlier this season?

Of course he would have. It would be negligent for a manager NOT to monitor and act on a pitchers pitch count.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025 23:43 pmAgree with first 2 paragraphs!blackinkbiz wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025 22:58 pmBefore this season, it wasn't "blind hatred."cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025 20:29 pmCT has a current love affair for Francona, who also has his team looking up at the Cards in the standings.

I like Shilt, bc he makes the playoffs pretty much every season he has been a big league manager and wins a minimum of 90 games sans COVID. He's ranked 33rd all time in winning % for a manager. He could manage my club if I owned a franchise. Not good enough for the Cardinals though.

So that makes you detest Bubbles and love Oli because you’re a contrarian.

PC are not some magic numbers. There has to be be some "feel" involved. Every pitch is not equal. Just because a guy hits a # doesn't mean he should automatically be pulled.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 12:26 pmOf course he would have. Name them. Must be a lot if he consistently costs them games. Back up your accusation.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025 23:39 pmcardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025 20:29 pmCT has a current love affair for Francona, who also has his team looking up at the Cards in the standings.

This team would be even better without Marmol as manager. He costs us games consistently. He is an AWFUL manager. No in game feel whatsoever. None!

You're giving the manager too much credit for wins and losses, and you're not quantifying nor qualifying your position.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 21:03 pmHis atrocious lineups over the past several years alone account for god knows how many losses.woofy25 wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 16:07 pmName them. Ok. Sorry. Not really wanting to argue, guy. Just stating my opinion. A manager's job is to put his players in the best position to be successful. In my opinion, Marmol rarely does either. (The countless games using Goldy as a table setter for Noot is a prime example!)woofy25 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 08:16 amYou're giving the manager too much credit for wins and losses, and you're not quantifying nor qualifying your position.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 21:03 pmHis atrocious lineups over the past several years alone account for god knows how many losses.woofy25 wrote: ↑30 Jun 2025 16:07 pmName them.
