Matz should be in HIGH demand since he's been healthy and very good at both spot starting and especially as a LHRP (hello Mets?).

Mo needs to get off his lazy a z z and start marketing these two (if Mikolas agrees to waive) along w/Helsley (DBacks?) and Fedde.
Healthy...it's May
Which is why you shop him ASAP.

BUT

Isn't it amazing how these guys stay healthy and pitch well (re: Meatman Mikolas, even P. Corbin and a healthy Matz) when they're in their walk season and seeking a new contract after the season?
Holy [fork], Matz has pitched 24 innings. He did 44 last year. LMAO. It's May! He'll get injured soon...
Again, that's why your trade him ASAP moran.

LETS GO BLUES!
Nobody is going to trade for these highly suspect piles of garbage and give you squat right now, or ever. They know they suck and it's a Matzer of time before he goes IL

Next comes Helsley and Fedde. If they perform as the did in 2024, their return will be very good. However, those deals are months off. If Matz stays healthy and effective, he’ll net a prospect or two, but nothing top shelf. Mikolas will get us Drew Rom.
Exactly!

If I'm a fan and the Cards were in contention...and your front office gave up a top prospect for Matz and/or Lizard Puke...you'd be livid!
I’m counting on a team that is a bit desperate, thus a low level high upside prospect plus shed salary to buy in off season.

Sure they will, you're underestimating their willingness to "roll the dice" on players in their final contract year.

So is this is why I watch games? To see if any of these guys have trade value in July?

Well why just limit the talk to Matz, Mikolas, Fedde, Nado and Helsley. Add Gorman, Walker, Burleson, pick a cathcher and blow the whole thing up.

Who doesn't have a no-trade contract and is untouchable at the deadline?

Keep Scott, Noot, Donovan, Winn, Liberatore, Leahy. Contreras and Gray have NT's. Who else has to stay?

Blinded by the light. Mik last four games 5.1 IP 4.25 hits 1.5 BB that would work on a good team.

Matz is a coveted lefty. On contract year. [shirt] don’t hurt as bad.

Haul- top level prospects to support the reset. Bonus- bye bye 30M hello stud in off season.
They've got to maintain it for nearly 3 more months (and not get hurt) before trading season opens.

They each make $15 million. We might get a low level prospect for each, but think of the money Dewitt can save.
