However, it will be almost as important for Burleson to return to the All Star caliber production he had the first half of '24. He was really good. How soon some forget that.
He had 2 great months. 45 of his 78 RBI came in June and July. In the other 4 months he had RBI totals of 10, 8, 9, and 6. Gorman sucked last year and then got sent down and he actually had more 10+ RBI months (4) than Burleson (3).
That's exactly my point. "it will be almost as important for Burleson to return to the All Star caliber production he had the first half of '24". It will be fascinating to see how all three produce in '25. Walker, Gorman and Burleson.

Narrator: Burleson never had "All-Star caliber" production. Shady is once again weaving fact-free fiction.

At the All Star break, Burleson was sitting at 1.4 fWAR, which (generously) extrapolates to somewhere between 2.0-2.5 fWAR for a full season if he were able to maintain the same pace. 2.0-2.5 fWAR is basically the production of a lower-end solid starter, but well short of "All Star"-level production. Of course, the reality is that the AS break marked pretty close to the high water mark for Burleson in 2024, he was not able to maintain the same pace, and he ended the year at 0.6 fWAR.

If he's a part time player. Some of your numbers are feasible. However, I'd be really surprised if Burleson ends up with a BA under .250 if he sees, primarily, RHP. He could very likely be the best hitter on the current roster against RHP.

We've gone over this before: In 2024 alone, Contreras, Donovan, and Herrera were all better hitters than Burleson vs. RHP. And career-wise, Burleson is not even close to being the best hitter on the current roster vs. RHP. Why do you keep repeating claims that you know aren't true? I don't know, Shady, sure seems like you might be operating in bad faith . . .

I have a theory...,

Since ShadyMapleWallyRobertEtc is incapable of using meaningful data to back up his wild claims, he simply assumes we are as obtuse as he is. Also, he's never been MAN ENOUGH to say, "Wow, thanks for showing me why my claim was wildly wrong by sharing data...Onviously, I was wrong".

It's just not in his DNA.

Therefore, before we know it....he'll be back to saying things like..."Burleson is as good a hitter as Ted Simmons"
or "Burly runs as well as Tommy Edman".

It will never end...

I have pointed out the adoration Cardinals experts have alluded to about Burleson's hitting ability. And who they would prefer batting in the clutch against outstanding RHP pitching. The doubters have called the experts shills for the organizations. But think about it, why don't they say those same distinct accolades for other players? I don't hear that about Contreras, Donovan, Winn, etc. Burleson seems to be their preference. It kind of reinforces what I've tried to get across for a long time on CT. That's where I'm coming from.
