Well, except it wasn’t some normal check along the boards or in the corner, Marner fell right on his kneeBomac wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024 11:22 amI have not been as impressed. Maybe one thread impressed.
But his main issue came to play big last night... The kid doesn't know how to take a hit. And that's just as big a flaw as any other metric.
The problem with yet another thread... For me. Is it's brought to you and promoted by those who would cancel a poster for posting the opposite... Hypocrisy is as [shirt]. As loyalty.

Wish Broberg nothing but the best, but it’s pretty clear to see he’s physically inferior and can be taken advantage of. Imagine that in the playoffs. He’s 23.5 years old as well.
Re: ITS EARLY but is Broberg the Blues best dman since Pronger/Mac
He's only 23.... And being physical, is a confidence issue and usually a lacking skill. He'll come around. If he doesn't keep getting himself hurt, before he figures it out.
Re: ITS EARLY but is Broberg the Blues best dman since Pronger/Mac
He’s 23.5. As an example, pietrangelo was leading the club in ice at 21-22 and playing playoffs. 80 games doing that.
Hedman and Doughty were doing more than Broberg with more responsibility when they were 19.
Re: ITS EARLY but is Broberg the Blues best dman since Pronger/Mac
How well did he do in the playoffs last year?

Petro is a Blue HOFer and will have #27 in the rafters one day. And Bouwmeester was a very good defenseman, although we got him in the 2nd half of his career, when he wasn't as offensively productive.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑01 Nov 2024 09:03 am This kid.... again even in a loss last night he for me is again the Blues best player on the ice.
23 yrs old tied for the team lead with 9pts leads the team with +6, and doing it with limited to no PP 4th in ATOI
For NHL dmen 23 or under:
Clarke 11pts
Broberg 9 pts
Sanderson, Power 8pts
Schneider +8, Hartely, Broberg +6
Do we need to start talking a little more about exactly what Army may have landed here? This has to be viewed in the context also that lets be honest the Blues this week, no Thomas, no Joseph, no Leddy just arent that good. Also i have to believe another coach would have had Broberg as the QB on the #1 PP which is painfully obvious to anyone watching the Blues. But again this also a coach that runs Brayden Schenn out on a #1 PP, but i am digressing.
Time will tell but man at 23 and so far, early, Broberg is the #! LHD fans were asking for. What does Broberg look like at 26 or 27 years old, Hedman-ish? Maybe he puts on a few more pounds, hes not timid as it is, 10 hits in 11 games he has no problem finishing his checks. Hes just getting his feet wet, going to be great watching him develop.
But I would say Broberg has the chance to be right there behind Petro.

Petro is a great two way dman nobody with any cred disputes this, 54 pt season so far APs tops perhaps he eclipses that this year. SO FAR, VERY EARLY Brobie looks like he has the potential for more. I LOVE the optimism around Broberg, and feel it to. I want to believe, lol.Lloyd Braun wrote: ↑04 Nov 2024 09:57 amPetro is a Blue HOFer and will have #27 in the rafters one day. That said, I remember after ten games thinking that Barrett Jackman was the second coming of Scott Stevens.
Broberg reminds me a LOT of early Pronger, minus the mean side. I don't want to saddle him with those expectations. Here's hoping he's healthy again soon, and back to doing what got him mentions alongside such luminary Blues players. He can then decide who he wants to be

Re: ITS EARLY but is Broberg the Blues best dman since Pronger/Mac
Shattenkirk got more…the league is different now. Much more offensive. Offense will never be Broberg’s issue. Away from the puck will be…as we saw many times alreadyHarry S Deals wrote: ↑04 Nov 2024 10:16 am

The problem with you has always been player assessment and bias. You suck at the first and have too much of the second.
