Those darned Cubbies
are pretty good. The lineup has 4 hitters with a BA over .300. One of them is Carson Kelly. The pitching is holding up well too. Argh.

Who would have thought that approaching the completion of 1/4th of the season, the entire NLC would not have a team below .500?

The Cubs are who "we" thought they were. Expected to win the Central. No big surprise they're out of the gate fast.

They were in last place for half the season. Winning 16/19 will do that for you. The cards have won 12/18 games.

Cardinals in 2nd place and only 2 games back.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑04 May 2026 07:56 am They were in last place for half the season. Winning 16/19 will do that for you. The cards have won 12/18 games.
Scubbies have played half the AL teams the Cards have (18 - 9)
Also, the Cardinals are 6 - 1 vs teams today over .500, the scubbies are 4 - 5 so their beating up on bad teams.

Yea but you know the adage- good teams are supposed to beat bad teams. It’s ok if they are good. As far as competition is concerned, we need only make the tourney.rockondlouie wrote: ↑04 May 2026 08:51 amCardinals in 2nd place and only 2 games back.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑04 May 2026 07:56 am They were in last place for half the season. Long flights. Sleeper teams. I smell a 2-4 trip with hopes of a 3-3.
