Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
They could recreate their success at University of Minnesota. Cooley isn't tearing it up; I think he has 14 goals this season. But seems to fit nicely in a rebuild.

Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
Only if we’re trading Snuggs to Utah
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
Are the Blues trading Thomas for Cooley? Cooley has been hurt which is why his goals are low right now.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 10:51 am They could recreate their success at University of Minnesota. If it's Utah the play is Thomas IMO and you get Desnoyers+ in the return

Would they take Snuggerud (or Kyrou) for Desnoyers?
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
1 for 1, no. Utah could potentiality take Kyrou and Parayko (they need defense) for Desnoyers plus a little more. But if I were them, would insist on Thomas for Desnoyers package.
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
THats stupid.
Thomas gets you more than a prospect. Desnoyers is far from a sure thing. This whole thread is far-fetched. No offense.

Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
I would rebut that if the idea was literally "Desnoyers+" – which it was – then what's stupid is repeating that as if there's no plus written there, because that's called being an unreliable narrator
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
IMHO. Desnoyers(+) for Thomas is silly.(my opinion) I need someone halfway proven. Desnoyers is not in the NHL. He was a product of Pekarcik. Is he all that? Having a down year imho.seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:30 pm I would rebut that if the idea was literally "Desnoyers+" – which it was – then what's stupid is repeating that as if there's no plus written there, because that's called being an unreliable narrator

Yeah, that's why I posed the alternative(s).seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:30 pm I would rebut that if the idea was literally "Desnoyers+" – which it was – then what's stupid is repeating that as if there's no plus written there, because that's called being an unreliable narrator
What is the distance in value between Kyrou/Snuggerud and Thomas?
I would think the + for Thomas (might also include more than just Thomas) would be a roster player and some sort of future package.
What would we add to Kyrou/Snugg for them to trade Desnoyers? Or is the position of center that important a factor? (I tend to think it is)
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
You are overvaluing a prospect. NHL players are worth more.zamadoo wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:37 pmYeah, that's why I posed the alternative(s).seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:30 pm I would rebut that if the idea was literally "Desnoyers+" – which it was – then what's stupid is repeating that as if there's no plus written there, because that's called being an unreliable narrator

Desnoyers has lower value than Kyrou. He has lower value than Snuggerud imho.
What has he done? He got drafted? Is he dominating the AHL? Has he played in the NHL? no and no
Can he take a hit? Is he a 30 pt NHl'er. Is he a40 pt NHL'er is he a 70 pt NhL'er? Hes a risk.
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
I agree that there is validity in your argument and inquiry. I also think there are other factors that even the value, including the risk curve.BluesDom wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:40 pmYou are overvaluing a prospect. Snuggerud has proven nothing, other than that he can take an NHL hit (though he did have wrist surgery this season and missed weeks).
We risk holding Kyrou. We risk holding anyone on this roster right now.
It's doubtful that they would trade Desnoyers. Why?

"he was a product of Pekarcik" eliminates you as reliable on this. full stop.BluesDom wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:34 pmIMHO. Desnoyers(+) for Thomas is silly.(my opinion) I need someone halfway proven. The deeper issue is some are going to reject any trade with Thomas though because they haven't yet accepted that Thomas is going to be the best player in whatever deal if he is dealt. That's what it would be. You'd trade Thomas for a blue chip 1C +, which is what this is. That's how the hockey trades generally go. If Thomas is dealt people are going to be disappointed but if he's dealt (and he's the only player going out) then I would anticipate it being in the ballpark of Blue Chip prospect at the center position + 1st round pick + someone's 9th best forward on their roster.
I personally believe Desnoyers is likely going to be better than Thomas, and he is easily a blue chip 1C prospect who I covet. So the plus would be coming in prospect additions, and Utah's system is ideal for that right now. Utah would be spending their prospect capital and we would be getting high end talent in return for a proven center on a value contract.
Re: Could Blues reunite Snuggs with Logan Cooley?
Desnoyers is a partial bust/overhyped imho. Or will not produce like Thomas or Kyrou. Most do not. I may be wrong. I feel that he will be another Jonathan Drouin. Just an opinion.seattleblue wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:49 pm"he was a product of Pekarcik" eliminates you as reliable on this. full stop.BluesDom wrote: ↑27 Jan 2026 12:34 pmIMHO. It doesnt. Just as reliable as any of you. All of us spouting opinions. Good or bad. Hes a prospect. Im not trading Thomas for this. or Kyrou. IMHO
