Re: Holloway helped off the ice at practice

To add to the “trying to be positive” post from callitwhwtuwant…It sounds like Kyrou should be back soon and hopefully reset, Torpo is coming back tonight, and Bugj appears to be short term. The AHL guys have had some good energy and chipped in with a couple goals.

Maybe the “underdog” tag will inspire the Blues. We finally got one of our goalies on a run with Binner due for one of his yearly “slump busting streaks”. If the Blues d-core can step up and the forwards all play a hard/responsible game, then they could grind out some wins (with solid goaltending).

At the risk of sounding as fanatically cocky as Hoffman was in WAG THE DOG...."This NOTHING!!! ".

At worst, we will tank for all the "Right" reasons. And the injuries and the failures endured, in an effort to learn the NHL Game, will pay off sooner or later for the kids fortunate enough to see Big League ice at this moment, early in their careers.

Not what the #stlblues needed, in a drill, Dylan Holloway not putting any weight on his leg after being tripped and helped off the ice.
Heading to Johnny Mac's to get the old CCM's sharpened up. They're gonna need me any day now.
I gave my old Tacks to my daughter with the caveat to never give them back, no matter how much I beg her.
I have a set of Pro Tacks that I’ve had for years.

Best skates I’ve ever owned.
My 16 year old son son will 100% agree with you, he loves his CCM Tacks XF. He will not wear anything else.
They’re heavier than other skates (or at least used to be) but they’re very well balanced and support wider feet really well. I’ve had those for probably 20 years.
I’ve found this pretty interesting. About four years ago, my son was invited to a hockey camp in Toronto, and that’s where he picked up a habit that still surprises people—he stopped wearing socks in his skates.

That’s also where CCM Tacks XF Pros came into the picture. A lot of kids from the Toronto area were telling him these were the best skates and that they could be custom-fit to your feet. When he came back, he couldn’t stop talking about it, so we did some research. Long story short, my bank account definitely took a hit 😅.

That said, he absolutely swears by it. He says his feet feel better, more connected, and more comfortable in his skates without socks—and he hasn’t looked back since.

I’ll do either or, but I usually settle on thin socks instead of full barefoot. I just can’t do it.

I’ll have to check out the XF Pros. I’ve been wanting to teach my daughter to skate (she’s 3) and I might join a men’s league next year so we’ll see if I update equipment.

I don’t know what it is about Tacks in general but they’re well balanced skates. I just wish they weighed a few ounces less. Aside from the nice balance, I do like the Steel that comes with them and the the holder is nice. As well.

He says he can feel the weight with other skates, but with these, he loves how they feel on his feet. At 6'2" and still growing, that comfort matters a lot. He actually reminds me a bit of a Tage Thompson–type player—speed isn’t his calling card, but once he gets moving, he can really get up and go out there on the ice.
