I picture the Yanks as a feast or famine offense. Getting Chisolm helped them I'm sure. Teams do go through these things though. Still, striking out 8 times against Pallante would hurt a lot unless of course they win, which they did.rockondlouie wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 09:56 amYankees hitters have been struggling lately, 45 KO's in their last 160 AB's!CCard wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 09:53 amYeah, I was surprised to see that Pallante had struck out 8. That's more than usual but he still doesn't consistently miss enough bats. He really needs to develop a split finger or some kind of out pitch. It may be too late in the game for him to do that I guess. Imanaga just kills batters with that split. It would be nice to see some Cards pitchers develop that.rockondlouie wrote: ↑10 Aug 2025 09:01 am NO WAY A. Pallante can be in the2026 starting rotation plans.
He's got similar stats to one of the worst starters in MLB, M. Mikolas:
Pallante
23 GS
4.95 ERA
4.51 FiP
1.37 WHiP
5.8 SO9
Mikolas
22 GS
5.11 ERA
4.90 FiP
1.32 WHiP
6.2 SO9
Back to trying to win a spot in the 2026 bullpen, he's NOT even a #5 major league starter.

He turns 27 years old in a few days BDogsikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 09:49 amI’m still gonna disagree. You get four solid starters above number five and five becomes a non factor.rockondlouie wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 09:44 amYep
Gray
Libby
McG
Leahy (reportedly being converted to a starter)
Bloom trades for or signs (an inexpensive starter)
Doyle should be on a very fast track, "Q" could be as well.
Plenty of starters but one things for sure, Pallante must go!
Plus, where is this great number five you want to replace him. I don’t see where another will do much better.
And the potential is greater than the downside.
My thoughts
With a 5.04 ERA he's going the wrong way in his career, regressing and getting worse.
Since July 1st he's posted a 6.31 ERA in his 8 GS and the team is 1 - 7.
No good.
No team wants a #5 who throws BP and gives their team little chance to win when he pitches.
Respect as always BDog but.......
Pallante is JAG
Cut the cord and move on, he'd never be missed.

Pallante is probably a #5 with his current repertoire.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 10:03 amGood banter.rockondlouie wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 10:02 amHe turns 27 years old in a few days BDogsikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 09:49 amI’m still gonna disagree. I think he lost his best pitching coach from 2024 though in Gibson.

Re: Pallante = Mikolas
Okay new comp for Pitiful Pallante
Pallante = Fedde
Fedde as a Cardinal:
5.22 ERA
1.50 WHiP
.270 BA against
Pallante:
5.17 ERA
1.41 WHiP
.268 BA against
Pallante absolutely CANNOT be in the 2026 rotation.
Either back to the pen', toss in as a nothing chip in any trade or DFA.
