Then went from that to playing full time in the AHL. Two all star appearances and was voted to the top prospects team last year. I’d like to see him hold down the 3rd pairing role in his year and maybe next year. Maybe he moves into the top 4 after Faulk contract runs out. I also think having Fowler, Broberg, Parayko and Faulk to learn from will only speed up his growth.

Yep he did for sure im just saying Bolducs pro hockey success has come in a very short window, short data set. Virtually 2-3 months of scoring in pro hockey I was trying to point out hes not a lock for success yet.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:08 am"We"?

Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
You can slice this the other way too - if not for Jim Montgomery, Bolduc may have never even been in consideration for the Calder. I don't expect the Canadiens are trading for Montgomery any time soon. Bolduc had 20 points in Calder voting and was 8th - Hutson had 1800 points in Calder voting. Certainly that proves your point about ridiculous competition, but its not like he was neck in neck.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:08 am"We"?

As I mentioned elsewhere - I like Bolduc as a player too. Your point is valid, but does warrant some perspective.

Nothing is at all ever certain but his trends are going up and in a massive way. Let’s hope this turns out to be a Shanahan for Pronger deal because if Mailloux turns out to be a Krug and Bolduc a Tage Thompson it will get ugly.
One thing is for sure the Canadiens got massively better. I in fact think we will be seeing them in the playoffs this next year. As of right now, I can’t say the same for St. Louis. Make all the excuses you want (not saying you at all Harry) but the bottom line is this. The best guy with the most NHL track record went to the Canadiens. The guy with the biggesy question marks and the least NHL experience went to us. We are assuming the most risk and the best guy left. That is horrid asset management. Many people in Blues media are speculating that more moves are coming. I would prefer we do so without being so generous with our assets. I said many times before sometimes its the moves that you don’t make and the patience you show. Doug Armstrong shouldn’t have made this deal one for one. We aren’t better off now. In fact at this point I would rather Doug do nothing at all. If I was a Gm and saw Doug was calling I would once again be licking my chops.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Shanahan for Pronger comes to mind. Ramage and Wamsley for Hull (and Bozek). Going the other way, ROR for Thompson. Yes there is risk, this is where the scouts and GM earn their keep. You are entitled to your opinion but no one knows yet how the Blues will fare.MandatoryDenial wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:27 amHarry S Deals wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:16 amYep he did for sure im just saying Bolducs pro hockey success has come in a very short window, short data set. Context. No first-, second- or third-place votes; one fourth-place vote. Finished eight out of 12 candidates.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 09:08 am"We"?

Check the years when he was in the OHL. It was during Covid and the league shut down. It had nothing to do with him.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 04:59 am When reading up on Mailloux last night I saw he only played 75 OHL games over a 3 year period. Thats not very much hockey. Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
Looking at his numbers in the OHL and AHL the guy is a legit offensive RD. Great skater with smooth hands and a wicked shot. He has some defensive warts but most D at 22 do. Bouchard and Dobson still have defensive warts. Some of that can be coached out. For him to have the success he's had in the AHL as a young D is incredibly promising. We have nothing like him in the pipeline. He's going to add a dimension this year we didn't have last year and he could be our PP1 guy from the beginning.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
The baggae kinda makes him a shtty punk teen, but ive known plenty of punk teens when i was growing up that i know did similar but just werent caught or charged.sdaltons wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:17 pm By all accounts, the Blues talked to the Canadiens quite a bit over the last few days. I'm sure they did some background on the kid and how he's moved past his issues. I hate that there's baggage but I would guess the team is comfortable that he has learned and grown from it.
Will be interesting to see if Army addresses it when they hold the press conference.
He didnt assault anyone. Taking secrez nudes during sex than sharing them to brag to teammates is a little slimy, but he pled guilty, paid the fine and did his community service, is no longer a teen and probably learned better and is past age of sharing pics of woman with buddies, and has had no issues since.

One of a kind, as far as our line up is concerned. Simply put. His first instinct was shooting and he could put the puck where he wanted it.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 14:18 pmBolduc was a one of kind in what way exactly?Cahokanut wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 14:13 pmNever a doubt he had a spot.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 14:04 pm to those worried he's going to start the year in the minors:

Doug Armstrong on acquiring Logan Mailloux: "He's an excellent skater, got an excellent shot. ... We think he's NHL-ready now. I talked to him, I told him he'll have the opportunity to ... he has a job now. It's his job to come into camp and keep it." #stlblues
Army did trade for him.
Bolduc was a one of a kind.
While we have ten different versions of Schenn. With a pool for of them. I hate this trade.
It was easy to notice management had some type of issue with Bolduc. Clearly wasn't on the ice.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
For what it's worth, I believe he sent it to a teammate who then sent it to the wider group. It wasn't his intention to share it with everyone, he was 17 and the women was an adult. There has been absolutely zero concerns since he was drafted which has been stated ad nauseam by everyone in his sphere since being drafted.Wattage wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 12:12 pmThe baggae kinda makes him a shtty punk teen, but ive known plenty of punk teens when i was growing up that i know did similar but just werent caught or charged.sdaltons wrote: ↑01 Jul 2025 12:17 pm By all accounts, the Blues talked to the Canadiens quite a bit over the last few days. Of all the off ice conduct that has been raised over the last 10 years, this seems like one of the few where it can be easily attributed to being young and dumb.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
I warned people not to fall in love with the young forward (winger) prospects. Numbers game, there are too many of them, some will be traded. In a way Carbonneau rendered Bolduc expendable, but he might have been anyway, or perhaps it was Snuggerud. Get the point?Cahokanut wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 12:20 pmOne of a kind, as far as our line up is concerned. Simply put. Id venture to say that probably multiple nhl players probably did this exact same thing as teens but just werent caught. Its not something that every teen does but there is a group of some teens that do that. Its not super rare. Doesnt make itnright but hes likely outgrown it and learned.Kilokaai wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 12:24 pmFor what it's worth, I believe he sent it to a teammate who then sent it to the wider group. One of the good things aboutnthis case is its pretty straightforward with no ambiguity. He admitted what he did and its no he said she said and no claims of it being anything darker than it was. He served the punishment. People need to move on.
Re: Logan Mailloux is coming!!
On 101 about an hour ago, they interviewed someone from Montreal who said Mailloux has totally owned up to it and is now a more mature person. He even gives talks to young teens about consent, situations, etc.Wattage wrote: ↑02 Jul 2025 12:29 pmId venture to say that probably multiple nhl players probably did this exact same thing as teens but just werent caught. It's a (bleep) thing to do, but sounds like he learned from it and hopefully became a better person from it.
