Hate the guy. 80% fastballs ain’t gonna cut it in the bigs.
Someone better tell Zach Wheeler he’s doing it wrong
Wheeler relies on 6 pitches. Four Seamer (41.9%) Sinker (17.7%) Sweeper (13.7%) Curveball (9.2%) Cutter (9.1%) Split Finger (8.4%)
You were close or maybe you are thinking about when he pitches against Cardinals.
Let’s me help you out.
Four seam fastball - 41.9%
Sinker (fastball) - 17.7%
Cut fastball - 9.1%
Split finger fastball - 8.4%
That would be 77.1% fastballs.
I said you were close.
Health is always the deal perhaps a red flag on
Doyle with the delivery.
His current pitch mix isn't anywhere near a red flag.
Splitter and a change or slide all good

Doyle was the SEC pitcher of the year.
He led the nation with 158 strikeouts in just 92 innings . (if you are tired of STL pitchers who 'pitch to contact' you have your srikeout pitcher in this kid .
Liam Doyle had a 2.84 ERA and held batters to a .172 batting average
Finally a pitcher that can blow the batters away .
There is only one player I'd rather have at that point. {Hernandez]
But, I like doyle.
He is going to be a fan favorite.
Those of you who don't like this pick,
prepare to have your mind changed.
The cardinals of today are boring.
There is nothing boring about this guy.
He sure will be a fan favorite. Hrabosky was a fan favorite for his intensity .. Doyle will be the same thing .
Watch this video .. His Tenn coach said Doyle's intensity is like 'a guy in a bar fight '

Well it’s a (drat) shame this kid can’t cut down on the FBs by 2.9% before he makes it to the show
Of course all of Liam’s were 4 seamers.

This link to a long report with analytics on how to approach hitting against Doyle right now.
He throws the FB primarily in all counts. It's high in the zone with vertical movement. Not a groundball pitcher. Not a pitch to contact pitcher. Different from anything we have right now.
He's a 3 true outcome pitcher with a lot of whiff. Hitters need to key on the FB and go after slug damage. At least college hitters couldn't string hits together against him.
If he can refine and trust a secondary pitch or 2 plus stay healthy, jackpot. Otherwise,... closer or

Just realized that 2 SS’s named Gavin with last names that end in “en” went back to back in the first round. What are the odds?

So many HS SS
The more college bats that fall to #55 the better.
there's a lot of good college pitchers, too.
