*Based SOLELY on watching the games and seeing him handle moves in the media I rate him below average.
*I can NOT however rate him based on his interactions in the dugout/clubhouse or on the practice field.

If like you said they honestly can’t find anyone better then you stick with him until someone better comes along.
Don’t make a move solely to say you made a move!
It’s the “timing” that has me confused.
I would NOT have extended him now. He’s not going anywhere so why not see how this season plays out?
Or....at least through the trade deadline?

Couple thoughts. If he wins this year any at all over the 70 predictions, he’s a winner. Then the lockout. Does that count as his year two?

Doesn’t signing on to manage a predicted loser indicate a bridge over troubled waters.

Could also be Bloom has two or three guys on his wish list who aren't currently available. Keep Oli thru a season where they aren't expecting to win and thru a season likely to be wrecked by a work stoppage. Re-evaluate who is available for 2028 and beyond post-work stoppage.

They just spent how many millions for players to play for other teams? They won't blink having to pay Oli for 2028 to not be the manager if that's when he can get the guy he wants.

Most likely correct. Bloom figures the dump will last 2 or 3 years. Marmol presides over it and then we get a new manager.

Perfectly stated. Losing won’t bother him one bit and he’ll be able to convince the players to not beat themselves up for it either.
