OK, so are we saying who was the best goalies to wear the Blue Note? or the best goalies FOR THE BLUES??

If it's the first, It's more of a who's who at the end of the road, have a cup of coffee.

1. Binner
2. Joseph (14 less wins than Liut in 67 less games. Liut has 34 more losses)

10. Brent Johnson

Just my opinion, I was blown away that 1993-94 season, Cujo set the record for wins in a season at 36 (It's now 2nd). He also set a franchise record for Shots Faced at 2382! Put it in perspective, Binners disastrous 2022-23 season he faced 1826. Which is 10th highest in franchise history. I hate Mike Keenan, Cujo was a BEAST for the Blues.

Other than Montreal, I wonder how many teams could make a list of say, eight guys, and have all rock solid players. Because I have to tell you, that list is kind of depressing. I don't doubt that Chris Mason was one of our better goalies but he was, in reality, just a guy. The only guys I can think of who were league wide names when they played for STL were Hall, Liut, Joseph, Fuhr, and Binnington.

I'm assuming you meant to include Plante on your list. It's crazy to think Montreal was so deep that they had to get rid of Tony Esposito and Rogie Vachon to make room for Dryden. I will have to give some more thought to non-O6 teams that can list more than 6 true stud goalies.

Dryden wasn't being actively counted on at the time they moved Esposito - he was playing at Cornell and made no secret of the fact that he was going into law. (Espo traded in 69) They had Vachon, Phil Myre, Gump Worsley in 69-70, then in 70-71 the duo was Vachon and Phil Myre. Dryden was playing in Nova Scotia while going to McGill. They called him because "why not". He played 6 regular season games and didn't lose, so they went with the hot hand in the playoffs. The rest is history.

(Funny how the Blues were in a similar situation in 2018 - 2019. They were trying to acquire a goalie because Allen just couldn't handle the #1 job. Chad Johnson was waived, and the personal staff suggested they just give the ball to the AHL guys. Husso had been earmarked but was going through injury issues. Binnington got the call and the rest is history.)

I could see dropping Hutton for Millen but Brent Johnson, is Top 10 in wins and still holds the Blues playoff record goalless streak at 207:44 recording 3 consecutive shutouts in 2002, Breaking Curtis Joseph's record of 174:18 over 2 consecutive shut outs in 1993. Ironically both goalies set those marks against the Chicago Blackhawks.

To me, Hall and Binnington are the only two to consider.

But I have to give a shout out to somebody who hasn’t mentioned on here at all. Jon Casey. I saw Casey play some very good playoff hockey in the 90s for multiple teams, including the Blues. He was very good after Fuhr got hurt.He always gets chastised because he gave up that critical goal to Yzerman.

Unpopular opinion, Cujo is overrated. He had one good playoff series, and everybody painted him as this great playoff goalie. He made it to the third round one time in his career.

it seemed, to me at least, Cujo needed a ton of shots to be on his game. the better the D played, the worse he looked
