After today’s start out of the 54 qualifying starting pitchers he is 41st in ERA. There are only 13 qualifying pitchers with a worse ERA. He now has a 4.43 ERA and was signed to be the best pitcher on this team. While he has had bumps during the year, his overall rankings have been quite solid. If the Cardinals had 4 other starters who had the numbers of Sonny Gray this year , this team would be in contention for playoff spot IMO.
