Package Walker Burley and Gorman for a top level starter who has 0 service time.
Who do you think would be a reasonable get?

Attempt to trade Gorman. Give Walker one more year
In regard to your Gorman suggestion. A reason it makes sense is the fact that two very good players in the organization, Saggese and Wetherholt, are on the way.
Wetherholt or Donovan can take over at 3b at some point.

Walker and Gorman both need to be gone neither are MLB starters nor will they be on a good team. The only problem is they have little trade value, they were both vastly overhyped and Walker was mismanaged by the front office he should have never been in the show at any point

I'm losing hope with Gorman, though he has shown some progress. Walker just turned 23 so I would give him more time. Saggesse looks ready to be a starter.
Ok, where do you see Saggese currently starting and who sits b/c of it?

Do either of them have the arm?

Obviously, they aren't very productive, right now. Both are very streaky. Would it be better to send them down to try to get better for a return later in the season to help the Cardinals? And possibly build up some trade value at AAA. Or just keep them as part-time players with the Cardinals, for now. Outfielder, Nathan Church, is really hitting well at Memphis. As was Saggese. So either of those players might be good replacements for Gorman and Walker or both for a while.
Shady I’m not picking on you alone but I am so tired of Gorman Walker threads. Fortunately in this thread the discussion led to other players and interesting comments.
Regarding Walker and Gorman no one knows what will be done and all the options have been discussed to death.
They will either:
A. Stay on roster
B. Be traded.
C. Sent down……again.
D. DFA’d.
Those are the options. Truth is the Cardinals have but themselves in a box. None of the options are great.
Please no more Gorman Walker threads.

What unique Cardinals topic would you prefer? Es. The fabulous young pitching coming along in the organization. McGreevy, Mathews, Hence, Roby, etc. Roby threw 6 shutout innings for Memphis yesterday.

Aside from some super small sample size streaks, these two just continue to disappoint.
Their runways have to be getting very short.
Unless they have solid second halves I'm almost hoping C. Bloom moves on from both of them.
How much longer can the Cardinals (and we fans) be expected to wait on that "potential"?
Maybe this is who they really are?

Walker needs to be down in AAA until he dominates there. I don't mean "do good" I mean like .900+ OPS.
Gorman I've been a big supporter of but I'm starting to lose patience. Not so much with his inconsistent performance but the fact that he continues to make mental mistakes even with the limited time he's given. E.g. terrible ABs in big situations, or getting picked off. He gets so few chances, if he's not gonna be locked in for all of them then what are we even doing here. I can't want it for him more than he does...

Walker seems to be going down the Jo Adell path and Gorman seems to be going down the Chris Davis path.
Gorman is a couple hot games (2 for 4 with a HR types) from having an OPS in the .730-.740 range though, so I still wouldn’t be giving up on him right now.
We are still in the range of season where a couple 0 for games can drop you 30-40 points in OPS and a couple good games can raise you 30-40 points in OPS.

If Gorman's going down the Davis path then in 2027 he'll be worth 7 WAR, which will kick off his 16 WAR in 4 years stretch... But he'll be worth negative WAR in the years before and after.
Oh and this year he'll get traded to Baltimore, so they get all the value and then overpay him for 6 years afterward.

Would we still get to go to the WS that year like Texas did? Albeit it would suck when we lose in 7 games after having a 3-2 lead in the series and being 1 strike away from winning it all 2 times in game 6.

I think you just have to ride through it!
Still not June and a month before the deadline.
Unfortunately I don’t see how AAA could improve their trade value??
If they start hitting really well at AAA before the trade deadline. Actually, I saw this suggestion from another poster on another thread. Something to that effect. What if Church and Saggese can help the Cardinals win more games than Gorman and Walker can?
Neither has done all that well in AAA. I'd like to see them dominate that level for a month. Similar to Grichuk in 2016 and Bader in 2019
Walker total AAA wRC+ = 93.3
Gorman total AAA wRC+ = 110.6

Give them their unconditional release to unfurl a whole new round of kvetching.
