Excellent, tank!

We have a manager who can’t get his team prepared to win on the road or close games……and this is your response
You two really don’t care about the Cardinals winning baseball games….
Of course we do, Goldfan. But it’s simply not always the manager’s fault. These players are grown men.
Experienced professionals.
Just curious…..who was writing in WC at #2 in batting order this last month? Who thinks Burly is a DH??
The point of suiting up a MLB team is to win games!!!
Not play a washed up pitcher because you signed him to a BAD contract
Not to kiss a vets (bleep) and worry about moving him down in order when he can’t hit
Not to take out SP too early and leave others in too long
WIN THE GAME….there’s no moral victory in MLB…..there are fans who stay home because they’re tired of paying for and watching idiot losers
Simple question, Goldfan. Is it ever the players’ fault?
Absolutely
Miles Suck……so manager doesn’t start him
WC couldn’t hit…..so manager drop to bottom of order
Fernandez has been tattooed…..so manager doesn’t pitch him in a tied game in 9th inning
Burly is non-productive and has no position….so manager doesn’t play him
You see how that works…..this attitude that “stuff happens” gives us a below .500 team and continues to cough up winnable games.
Well said GoldFan.
Marmol doesn't know how to manage and it becomes noticeable in close games. Sure players have to play, but managers have to use guys appropriately and put them in spots to be successful. Marmol has failed in that regard, bigtime!
lol. Torre was bashed on CT. Whitey was bashed on CT. Tony was bashed on CT. Matheny was bashed on CT. Shildt was bashed on CT. Now it’s Oli’s turn.
What’s new?
Idk about any of that. All I know is Marmol is god-awful at in-game managing and has no feel at all for the game. That is blatantly obvious. He is also far inferior to any of the managers you mentioned.
+1...he consistently misses opportunities to put this team in a position to win...only the front office (donkey) kissers will disagree!
Comically enough cranny has on numerous occasions spoken out against Oli and said that Mo made a wrong decision hiring him. Now he’s defending Oli to the death and saying it’s all on the players.
He just likes to argue. That’s all he’s he for. To argue.
You’re right. Oli didn’t deserve the job, and I don’t particularly care for him. But that doesn’t make me bash every move he makes, because I don’t know the stats or everything going on behind the scenes.
Either the decisions made work or they don’t. If as manager your team ends up on the losing side more than not then whatever the cause may be…..you shouldn’t be a Manager. What move has he made that you can pinpoint has advantaged the Cardinals. We sit here and watch the games and that make or break moment arrives and more times than not Oli is awol…..like he’s just a viewer in something he has no control over.
If WC hasn’t hit the ball in 30-40 PA then MOVE him out the 2 spot. There is not reasoning to leave him there. If he starts hitting at a lower spot….great….move him back
Running out the BP pitcher in Miles every 5th day does nothing to advantage the team probably creates a negative effect.
Playing Burly every game while he provides no production is idiocy

This has always been a throw away season. So what did you all expect???? TBH, they've performed exactly as predicted, and that includes Oli. The only thing that's been a lie is the reset.

31 Ks in 3 Mutts games.
Still down with Brown? Bumbles still can't hit, JW can't hit, Siani can't hit, UniKKKorn can't hit...

The assessment misses on Walker and Gorman are so great…….no one who was involved in those decisions to promote because of their hitting prowess should be associated with MLB going forward. The pump and hype especially with Walker is comical. Hopefully Bloom has the sense to end this buffoonery

I will, because this part of the movie plot has been consistent through the Marmot franchise. Use a paint-by-numbers bullpen scheme, rolling in relievers until you find the one who can't pitch today, preferably in a critical situation.

It’s like the game plan down the exact pitch count and who will be used that day regardless of game situation or matchups……no feel for the game at hand

This is having a manager who doesn’t know how to prepare his win to WIN. Oli think every game is a learning opportunity. Send this clown to the minors to teach or instruct something. He isn’t a ML manager.

Blatantly obvious to those of us who have a feel for the game.
Sure, it is my opinion. But it is also true.

The offense was humming
The SP was fairly solid
The defense is good
Top of league closer
How many games have they been in where that crucial moment occurs and it’s lost. Many of those games its been the manager screwing up
This can’t continue
Continuing batting Burly in a production spot
Whatever ice cold hitter remaining in a top batting spot can’t continue
Running out obviously ineffective RP to give up leads can’t continue
Either someone gameplanned the entire season for Oli in ST and he can’t deviate or he’s just terrible at this job

Oli may be the biggest "nothing" manager we've ever seen.
He needed to be fired after the 2023 debacle.
