You two really don’t care about the Cardinals winning baseball games….
Experienced professionals.
The point of suiting up a MLB team is to win games!!!
Not play a washed up pitcher because you signed him to a BAD contract
Not to kiss a vets (bleep) and worry about moving him down in order when he can’t hit
Not to take out SP too early and leave others in too long
WIN THE GAME….there’s no moral victory in MLB…..there are fans who stay home because they’re tired of paying for and watching idiot losers
But we absolutely do need to win some road games to stay in contention.

Simple question, Goldfan. Is it ever the players’ fault?
Miles Suck……so manager doesn’t start him
WC couldn’t hit…..so manager drop to bottom of order
Fernandez has been tattooed…..so manager doesn’t pitch him in a tied game in 9th inning
Burly is non-productive and has no position….so manager doesn’t play him
You see how that works…..this attitude that “stuff happens” gives us a below .500 team and continues to cough up winnable games.
Marmol doesn't know how to manage and it becomes noticeable in close games. Sure players have to play, but managers have to use guys appropriately and put them in spots to be successful. Marmol has failed in that regard, bigtime!

I was a football player and coach and did not play baseball above Little League, so this is an honest question — what should be done differently on the road than what is being done now? I wouldn’t think they’d change their game prep process, so I legitimately don’t know what you’re seeing, or not seeing.Goldfan wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 15:10 pmCranny wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 15:07 pmExcellent, tank!thetank2 wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 14:53 pmAre you going to bend him over and spank him?Goldfan wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 14:46 pm “ #STLCards are 1-7 on road going into Saturday's game at

This team has very few options. The manager can only play what he has, and there are just no impact hitters on this team right now. Walker and Gorman strike out too much and are both slumping, Burleson and Baker are big, slow singles hitters at the major league level, when healthy Winn has proven he can't hit at the top of the order, Scott has cooled off a lot, Siani is no MLB hitter, and your catchers are OK but not MLB impact hitters. Contreras is in a terrible funk and would stink right now no matter where he hits, but I agree he should not be hitting in the upper end of the order until he is straightened out. Arenado is s decent hitter but his impact power hitter days seem to be over. Donovan, Winn, Nootbaar, and Herrera are all good players, but none of them is an impact player. I like Saggese but he is not going to be an impact player.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 18:34 pmWhom exactly is making the decision to keep batting the hapless Burly 5th? This is your team. Not really an impact MLB run producer in any of them at this time. And that is the real problem. Ollie doesn't help the situation, but he has been given a very flawed roster and their batting order in the long run won't matter due to the lack of real hitting talent. Those who primarily blame him for this mess are not real deep thinkers.

What about batting your hottest hitter, Saggese 5th rather than Burly? What about the occasional hit & run? Sacrifice bunt?Bob Kunush wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 19:13 pmThis team has very few options. Re: This is on Manager
The vast majority of the time it comes down to the players performing or not.
But.....in tight games against equal or better competition you need your “leadership” help give you an EDGE.
Oli gives the opponent the edge the vast majority of the time.
Not only are his in-game decisions often in question but he totally butchered the TO and Contreras “situations” a few years back.
I can’t think of one positive quality that he brings to the games?
So...why keep him next season?

This is having a manager who doesn’t know how to prepare his win to WIN. Oli think every game is a learning opportunity. Send this clown to the minors to teach or instruct something. He isn’t a ML manager.![]()

Marmol has failed in that regard, bigtime!
lol. Torre was bashed on CT. Whitey was bashed on CT. Tony was bashed on CT. Matheny was bashed on CT. Shildt was bashed on CT. Now it’s Oli’s turn.
What’s new?

Comically enough cranny has on numerous occasions spoken out against Oli and said that Mo made a wrong decision hiring him. Now he’s defending Oli to the death and saying it’s all on the players.
He just likes to argue. That’s all he’s he for. To argue.
Re: This is on Manager
You’re right. Oli didn’t deserve the job, and I don’t particularly care for him. But that doesn’t make me bash every move he makes, because I don’t know the stats or everything going on behind the scenes.Banner29 wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 20:47 pmWLTFE wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 20:17 pm+1...he consistently misses opportunities to put this team in a position to win...only the front office (donkey) kissers will disagree!Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑19 Apr 2025 19:29 pmIdk about any of that.
