This is on Manager

“ #STLCards are 1-7 on road going into Saturday's game at
@Mets
; only one team in Cards franchise history (1960) was winless after first 8 road games. The 2025 Cardinals are one of 11 Cards teams to be 1-7 in first 8 road games of a season.” Bernie

0-4 in 1 run game in ‘25 as well

This is having a manager who doesn’t know how to prepare his win to WIN. Oli think every game is a learning opportunity. Send this clown to the minors to teach or instruct something. He isn’t a ML manager.

Just how do you know that the manager is not preparing the team to win on the road. The effort is good. They are fighting back when behind and they are hustling. In other words, got any proof?

Of course we do, Goldfan. But it’s simply not always the manager’s fault. These players are grown men.

Just curious…..who was writing in WC at #2 in batting order this last month? Who thinks Burly is a DH??
The point of suiting up a MLB team is to win games!!!
Not play a washed up pitcher because you signed him to a BAD contract
Not to kiss a vets (bleep) and worry about moving him down in order when he can’t hit
Not to take out SP too early and leave others in too long
WIN THE GAME….there’s no moral victory in MLB…..there are fans who stay home because they’re tired of paying for and watching idiot losers

Absolutely
Miles Suck……so manager doesn’t start him
WC couldn’t hit…..so manager drop to bottom of order
Fernandez has been tattooed…..so manager doesn’t pitch him in a tied game in 9th inning
Burly is non-productive and has no position….so manager doesn’t play him
You see how that works…..this attitude that “stuff happens” gives us a below .500 team and continues to cough up winnable games.

Is there anything positive you can say, Goldfan?
About ownership, front office, manager, coaches, team? Maybe an individual player? Anything?

Well said GoldFan.
Marmol doesn't know how to manage and it becomes noticeable in close games. Sure players have to play, but managers have to use guys appropriately and put them in spots to be successful. Marmol has failed in that regard, bigtime!

FWIW, the paying fans at Busch are seeing wins - 8-4 at home. They aren't seeing this version of the team when they buy a ticket.

But we absolutely do need to win some road games to stay in contention.

Really? Player actually not performing isn't on the players? Can you cite specific failings from games that cost them the game and did you call it before it happened?
