Re: Command Number 9 in Sportsnet’s latest top 45
As for Command, he’s a good young center and I expect him to shoot up some rankings due to his good U18 tourney but not all the way into the top-10. I see him more in the 15-20 range. I was thinking more of a 3C projection but I can see him maybe becoming a 2C now. He’s a dependable player but it’ll depend on how well the offensive skills develop and translate to the pros.
But he’s a center and 6’1” so I bet he goes a little higher than he’s ranked, especially in a draft shallow on centers…but I’d still be pretty surprised if he was taken top-10.

Good read that's not behind a paywall...STL fan in MN wrote: ↑15 May 2026 13:37 pm I think it’s much more likely Anaheim tries to get him to level up a bit than to cut bait and sell low on him.
His defensive play isn’t currently good enough but that’s fairly normal for a younger player. I think some have called his effort into question as well though. Maybe he just needs a good mentor and some maturing…but maybe he needs a change of scenery. I honestly haven’t paid a ton of attention to Anaheim this season to say much more than that though.

The Ducks and Blues don’t look like matching trade partners whether it’s for players or prospects.

It’s not like you’ve been here for basically a decade or nothing.

While I don't always agree with his takes, he does follow both teams and comment here quite a bit. Knowledgeable and respectful poster. Don't mind seeing his opinions at all, especially on some of the younger Hawks that I don't follow. My two cents....no need to reply.

Gotcha. My knowledge of the forum is not that great. Know about the one troll and thought this was another. I tend to agree, other than they have an aging defensive core that are all UFAs. Maybe they would look at Parayko for the final few years of his contract to have a veteran presence at a locked in rate. They were paying a 36 year old Carlson $8.0 million after the trade, Trouba (32) $8.0 million and Gudas (35) $4.0 million. Parayko at 33 years old and only $6.5 million might intrigue them. Just not sure what return we might get, so I don't know if they are a good fit for us.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑15 May 2026 15:06 pm The Ducks and Blues don’t look like matching trade partners whether it’s for players or prospects.
Seattle, Columbus and Ottawa still seem best.
As for Command, haven't followed him much, but seems like he would fit in as a 3C. Problem is, until we know where Dvo finally lands (2c or 3c), we should shoot for higher potential. In that range, I wonder if Morozov is a better pick with a bit higher potential??

I’d prefer Command over Morozov by quite a bit. Questionable if Morozov is actually more skilled and I really like Command’s two-way game and compete level. That said, both probably will fall into that range between picks 15 and 31.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑16 May 2026 08:18 amI tend to agree, other than they have an aging defensive core that are all UFAs. Sorry, I didn’t realize this was an old thread. People were gushing over this command guy. And it looks like we did sign Mason McTavish. You called it. How about that?
