Command Number 9 in Sportsnet’s latest top 45

Post by Bluesfan1978 »

It’d be interesting to know the Blues list and where they project a player like Command.

He was 25 in their April edition. So he jumped 16 spots in a month? People just put out different sheet at this point for clicks

I’m sure some do. He did have a strong U18 showing a couple weeks ago and was one of Sweden’s best players. No idea if he should have jumped that much though.

NHL prospect rankings with NHL projections like this one are ridiculous. The reality is there are only 32 NHL teams, and the good players have careers of a decade or longer. There aren’t enough open spots in NHL lineups and/or prospects with necessary skills for even 1/4 of the prospects in a list like this to get to their listed NHL projection.

My hope is that the Blues end up with a center prospect from the 11th pick that can battle with Dvorsky in a couple years for the 2nd line center spot in the Blues lineup and then with the 15th pick they draft whoever is the best forward or defenseman available.

So you believe that only 1/4 of players drafted reach their NHL projection? You do realize that many players surpass their pre-draft NHL "projection" right?

I don’t have to “believe” anything. Look at lists like this one ranking prospects before NHL drafts years ago, and you’ll see the % of these NHL projections being correct is abysmal.

This is interesting news for another potential first-round prospect in the 2026 NHL Draft. Center Alexander Command signed a two-year deal with Örebro in the SHL. Command is projected to be a late-first round pick in this summer’s draft (probably in the 20s), but has the skillset that I think would get the Blackhawks’ attention. If his two-year commitment causes him to slide a bit and he’s available around No. 34 overall, he could make a lot of sense.

Why not trade for Mason MacTavish? It appears that he's available and would step in immediately.

Why would a Blackhawk’s fan hang out in a Blues talk forum?

Why is he available then? He seems like he could fit into what the Blues are doing from what i can tell hes responsible in the dzone plays with at least some grit, good size. What would this cost?

Apparently he's in Quenville's doghouse which is a famous landing spot for young players he's coached over the decades...

I don't hate this idea, but I'll believe an NHL team trading a young 2nd line center in the current salary cap environment when I see it.

He was heathy scratched two games against Vegas and most games wasn't even playing Centre. Theres also rumblings he wasn't happy with his usage last year.

I think it’s much more likely Anaheim tries to get him to level up a bit than to cut bait and sell low on him.

His defensive play isn’t currently good enough but that’s fairly normal for a younger player. I think some have called his effort into question as well though. Maybe he just needs a good mentor and some maturing…but maybe he needs a change of scenery. I honestly haven’t paid a ton of attention to Anaheim this season to say much more than that though.
