I’m not 100% sure, but I think Kyle Tucker is going to make more money than the Cards roster this year.

My bad. I detected some sarcasm that wasn’t real. Couldn’t understand why you were not onboard with a sign and flip for Andujar. Apologies to you.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:13 pmI’d try to read again what I wrote. I said Bloom masterfully opens up 1000 abs. It’s actually 1500. What’s Andujar do for you? You think we are winning in 2026?
Yeah, I get your p!$$ed off at Bloom but join us in the real world. He was hired to tear it down and build it back up. Like it or not
Why sign Andujar? He’s an investment. Hop e he catches fire and flip ‘em at the deadline, that’s why.
WTF are you talking about?

What gets me is, people on here want to go and acquire all these young prospects but aren’t willing to see what the ones we already have can do!!! Something to do with greener pastures or newer shiny coins I guess!Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:37 pmAgree. Even if he has a somewhat productive first half, you aren't getting any game-changing prospects back for him. Saggese and Fermin both have alluded to working in the OF. Nathan Church needs and deserves a much longer look. Bryan Torres, in my opinion, is a pure hitter and a legit, old-school leadoff type. Would love for him to get an opportunity.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:21 pmOk, say they sign Andujar and he repeats what he did last year, doubtful, but let’s say he does, Just what kind of a return do you expect to get for him? I’d rather see what the guys we already have can do. What if Fermin or Torres or Church replicate what they’ve done at AAA? Wouldn’t that be more valuable than signing Andujar to a $10-$15 mil contract? We aren’t winning anything anyway!

If they add 1 more player, it should be a starting pitcher.
You cannot count on another season with 0 injuries to your starting pitchers, especially with a several starters who have never had a healthy season.

Wow, gonna keep doubling down on the Fermin,Torres and Church angle? This, despite the fact that Andujar has an entirely different skill set and bats RH? Torres and Church hit LH. Fermin is a 26 year old contact hitting infielder. Saggese is younger and more highly regarded.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:21 pmOk, say they sign Andujar and he repeats what he did last year, doubtful, but let’s say he does, Just what kind of a return do you expect to get for him? He did sign a RH bat. There are 3 OF positions. Center is left. Right is right. Left is the tie breaker. I don’t see the problem.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:46 pmDidn't heention looking for a RH bat?Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:47 pm Why? Did you not see what Hayes signed for? Andujar hit for a higher average than Hayes and can also play infield. If the Cardinals were trying to win, Andujar would make some sense, but they aren’t, so he’s not needed.peterman'srealitytour wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 23:02 pmWow, gonna keep doubling down on the Fermin,Torres and Church angle? Great suggestion. It would be a good and smart gesture to pass on some of the savings from all the payroll reductions.
Instead of asking fans to pay a premium price for an inferior product, they could invite them back to the park at an affordable family-friendly price under the premise they are building something great for the future and they want the fans to be a part of it at the ground level.
That’s an easier sell and a better PR move for the team. Maybe they could better justify being cheap for a couple of years while they build a new young core if they let the fans off cheap for a while too.
It would be good to include fan trust as part of the rebuild efforts too.

Tell your boss to lower costs and gain more clients. Not a bright business model.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 00:12 amGreat suggestion. It would be a good and smart gesture to pass on some of the savings from all the payroll reductions.

He did but that’s not the kind of right handed bat he’s looking for for the majors. He wants a veteran right handed hitter to provide leadershipCardinals1964 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2026 00:22 amHe did sign a right handed bat.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 22:46 pmDidn't heention looking for a RH bat?Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2026 21:47 pm Why? Are you saying having an occasional sale never serves to stimulate business?
