I'm not surprised Duran went for more, but I am surprised how much more they got back. Struggling to find much to be happy about with this.

I understood moving Helsley, but the point was supposed to be to get a haul for him to accelerate the rebuild. That's not close to what happened and now a fan favorite is gone with little to be excited about for the future.

I try to find a positive way to spin things but can't seem to find it with this move.

A priority for the Cardinals at the deadline was acquiring players from the lower minors who would not create more traffic on the 40-player roster before a new front office leadership takes over following this season.

Seems rather stupid to limit yourself to that kind of a return on purpose.

Can sort it out in out in the early off season. But assume they are looking at that.

So basically this year is a total waste of time. Why wouldn’t you let the new front office start now making changes now? So you purposely undervalue Helsley just for a cleaner slate?
