Then the slate is clean for Bloom. Mo just needs to clean out his desk and get measured for a red jacket.

I'm not surprised Duran went for more, but I am surprised how much more they got back. Struggling to find much to be happy about with this.

I understood moving Helsley, but the point was supposed to be to get a haul for him to accelerate the rebuild. That's not close to what happened and now a fan favorite is gone with little to be excited about for the future.

I try to find a positive way to spin things but can't seem to find it with this move.

The hard part is watching the Giants get major league ready talent for Rogers while the Cardinals take 3 flyers on A-level players.

As previous poster mentioned, between the injuries and setbacks, the 40-man doesn’t present great optimism, currently.

A priority for the Cardinals at the deadline was acquiring players from the lower minors who would not create more traffic on the 40-player roster before a new front office leadership takes over following this season.
Seems rather stupid to limit yourself to that kind of a return on purpose.

Low A trade strategy.

Consider now who needs to be protected on the 40-man from the rule 5 draft. How many injured pitchers have to be protected.

Can sort it out in out in the early off season. But assume they are looking at that.

I just don’t see how it would be possible to run this organization any stupider than they’ve done the last few years. However, by tomorrow I’ll have been proven wrong, I’m sure!

Bloom not allowed in the room?

That makes no sense to me.
Save yourself some brain damage and don’t try to make sense of anything Mo decides to do.
The I am smarter than Mo crowd already have severe brain damage.

So basically this year is a total waste of time. Why wouldn’t you let the new front office start now making changes now? So you purposely undervalue Helsley just for a cleaner slate?

Stupid and confusing.
Couldn’t have summed it up better.

Anybody defending John Mozeliak's stupid moves has issues.
