No thank you. No addicts need to be Cards manager...
what about La Russo?
Same.
So you'd say no because he had a drinking problem in the 1980's and 1990's?

I was mistaken. I thought it was more recent. He stopped in 1999 before he was a manager.

I'd hire at his asking price and hold a parade for him in downtown St Louis.

Is there really that bad of a shortage of manager talent to where a team would even consider hiring someone in their 80’s? I think the game has just devolved. As long as players keep getting mega deals for hitting .220 w/30 hrs the players’ approach isn’t going to change much so what can a manager really do about it?

He's certainly too old for it.

My issue with scouty is that he didn't bong him for age... he said no because he had a drinking problem 3 decades ago.

I wonder how he’d feel if we hired Daryl Strawberry. His head might explode.

Follow the thread. It started with Hurdle having a drinking problem. Then asked about TLR and his drinking issue and then you asked if that was the reason and I said yes and he's 80.

 My head wouldn't explode. It doesn't over any manager. But yes, no Strawberry or Ron Washington too.. Strawberry has never coached/managed

Ron Washington is too old at 73

How about Barry Bonds? Maybe we’d see that late career resurgence we’ve been waiting for with Arenado lol!
