one might call him Weird OliMonsieur De Treville wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:35 pmAgree! What is Oli's problem?
Did he not notice Pages throwing out a base stealer AND hitting a home run yesterday? Has he not noticed how well the pitcher's pitch with Pages/Pozo behind the plate?
Weird.

Again, YOU need to look in the mirror! He hasn't started anything! It's your behavior which nearly everyone despises. YOU. YOU are the problem! And even they got 3 SB's (of course not all 3 Hererra's fault but shows teams will run-run-run w/him behind the plate)
BTW, have you been paying attention to the Scrubs and how they're running wild?
Counsell has brought that running game w/him from the Brewers and their combo of HR's + SB's = top scoring team in MLB.
Meanwhile Oli keeping a tight reign on VSII who should be leading MLB in steals by now given his very good .346OB%.

Absolutely brutal last night.

Ugly game behind the plate last night.vegascardsfan5890 wrote: ↑27 May 2025 15:01 pm Cards pitchers have an ERA over 5.50 when Herrera started, under 3.00 when Pages starts

For those who want to applaud Oli for the teams solid start (and he deserves some but certainly not all the praise) this is yet another example why no one should want to see him in the Cardinals dugout ever again after this season.
Combined w/his history of awful lineup constructions and poor in game managing he has to go after this season.

And Cubs have the top 2 players in RB in baseball. Suzuki leading with 50 and Crow-Armstrong with 49 in 2nd. Not to mention Tucker at tied for 12th in baseball with 39. Our best? Cubs have 5 players tied or ahead of our best in RBI. It’s ridiculous.

It is weird, and Herrera struggled defensively just last night, plus got dinged on a foul ball.Monsieur De Treville wrote: ↑27 May 2025 16:35 pmAgree! What is Oli's problem?

Defense was pretty bad yesterday, which hasn't happened often. Great they found a way to win anyway.

Marmol is not a good manager. I will give him a little credit for improving, but not much. For those who credit the team's success this season to Oli. Imagine what Counsell or some other good manager would be doing with this team..... Hopefully this is Marmol's final season at the helm.rockondlouie wrote: ↑28 May 2025 09:02 amFor those who want to applaud Oli for the teams solid start (and he deserves some but certainly not all the praise) this is yet another example why no one should want to see him in the Cardinals dugout ever again after this season.

You're the one who got the animosity started, by being a complete tool on this forum. I've been saying the same thing, what would this team look like if they had an elite Manager?
B. Bryant/J. Jay additions are helping to cover up all of Oli's warts.
Fingers crossed C. Bloom has his Manager in mind already and it's NOT Oli.

If Herrera doesn't stop swinging at those down-and-in pitches, his reign as MOTO bat may be short-lived. Also, I'm not gonna complain about a guy hitting .350 with an OPS over 1.000 but wth is his power? He hasn't homered since that 3-homer game over a month ago.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑28 May 2025 09:20 amAnd Cubs have the top 2 players in RB in baseball. And the Cubs have got to come back down to earth at some point--I hope?

And the Cubs have got to come back down to earth at some point--I hope? They're on pace for almost 1,000 runs. It's either one of those "magical seasons" or the Cards are just gonna have to focus on the WC considering they have the softest schedule in MLB although we do face them 13 times. Another come-from-behind walkoff win last night .... sigh @#!@#!@ lol
Even still, since his last HR, he’s hitting .362/.426/.426 with 11 RBI and 9 runs in 13 games. That ain’t bad.
Interesting thing about the Cubs is how they are tormenting relievers, but rather pedestrian vs SP’s.
Vs SPs: .241/.314/.432
Vs RPs: .287/.360/.473
