Rocket Scientist wrote: 26 Aug 2025 09:50 am Chip said last night mid game the Burleson was one of five MLB players that have hit 270+ against both left handed pitching and right handed pitching. That makes him elite in 2025 season. The guy can hit.

Then of course all the folks that said he couldn't hit lefthanders raise your hands.
Nice to see him overcome his difficulties vs LHP.

My hands up but, well............maybe we should look at a larger sample size.......say his career vs LHP:

6 HR
.235 .266 .338 .605
And just last season in 142 PAs vs LHP: .195 .229 .286 .514

He was the definition of suck vs LHP, in a larger sample just last season.

A star draws fans. You probably see people wearing his jersey. He is among the league leaders in something. A star is under consideration for the various awards given. A star receives All-Star consideration. Star=WAR. On a team lacking stars, Burleson isn't even the best player on his team.

He is, undeniably, a major league hitter. He is neither a star, nor the best player on the team.

Who said he was the best player on the team? Nobody. He is the best hitter on the 26 man roster.

Bull chit. By what metric is .259 .343 .455 .798 with 129 K's better than .291 .341 .459 .799 with 62 K's?

if either one of them is your best player --- you have a bigger problem than trying to figure out which is better.

Why is reading comprehension such a problem on CT?

Ha. That’s like being a cyclops in the land of the blind.
Context please.
And he’s the 5th best player because he can’t defend or run.
Contreras, Herrera, Wynn and Donny are better all-around players.
The post is that he is a “star.” He’s not. And the others aren’t either

Winn is the closest of the group. He has one tool that is major league elite right now- not maybe in the future.
