MLB is criticized for not adequately marketing its star or up and coming players.

I believe the interviews are a vehicle to try and do this.

Yes they're too long but I can see why its being done.

There are far better ways to market young players. This is aggravating and boring. No one tunes in to WATCH people talk about nothing, while the game is going on.

I'm not arguing that it is I'm just giving a possible reason for it.
