He only signed a 2 year deal. I can't imagine it was for a bag of money. Easy enough to fire him.
Bloom should be embarrassed by this bullpen he has put together

I do expect that to take place now that DeWitt has formally handed much of his authority to others.HOUCARD wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 21:28 pmHe only signed a 2 year deal. I can't imagine it was for a bag of money. Easy enough to fire him.![]()
Bloom is doubtless looking forward to the day his hands are no longer tied.

Yep. This is supposed to satisfy Cardinal Nation for 2026.lined2left wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 16:30 pmWalker’s batting practice championship.
In case you haven’t noticed, they are pimping it in between every inning.

Easy.
Obvious.
Correct.
Who did ownership hire to hire the manager?
Chaim had no say in the matter.
I must admit to being a bit surprised that you were unaware of that fact.
Now, if I were an unkind person, I might be tempted to conclude that if you got into a baseball conversation with yourself, neither of you would learn a thing.
But, I am too gracious and too much the gentleman to go down that route.
I am only and always about the game.
I know exactly who hired Marmol and it was under this ownership. Never said anything about Bloom and unless you are duller than dirt you would know that.
Gentleman? Don't forget to add liar to your resume.
And you'd always finish third.
You're as dull on the subject as a butter knife and as full of [shirt] as a Christmas goose.
Now go down that road fraud.

I think it would be more embarrassing to think somehow they had the bullpen all figured out while rendering the rest of the roster fungible. The bullpen was hardly a surprise. It should receive more attention as we close on higher expectations. I'm much more concerned about what it looks like 1 and 2 years from now and the expected momentum going forward. We finally have a farm we can expect to contribute more and more. It would have been stupid to throw a lot of money on the pen this year. Moreover, the pen only obfuscates the deprived run production we are currently experiencing. 2 years from now I'm thinking this is all ancient history.

The Marmot?
I think Oli needs to be replaced but calling him that shows what you have to say isn't worth reading.

So embarrassing how am I going to go living
. Like who cares what they are year one. Bullpens can be rebuilt in a year and these are guys that are either cast offs, or very inexperienced. Did you think they would be in the top ten. Hell there are 8 teams worse and they all aren't starting from scratch. You guys hit your periods acting like they are historically bad in year one of a total rebuild. Honestly you can't make up how lame fans are. Get a life.

Dumb. This is not on Marmal. Every single player in mlb has to learn to adjust once teams scouting starts to pick up certain habits. Whether it’s hitter chasing certain pitches or pitchers tipping pitches and so forth. This bullpen sucked in march. But our staff had time to coach them up. Now mlb is catching up to it and we need to adjust again. We will see. But it ain’t on marmol. Ivan tell you’re an average joe fan and don’t know [shirt] about the game. There is so much stuff that goes on behind the scenes and in between games. You know nothing about that.

Holy hell this moron is blaming the manager for the bullpen falling back to the levels of not being good that was expected. So they were better and when they collectively started sucking it's the managers fault? Also how in the world can you not realize this bullpen was cast offs and just a few pitchers that would be on an MLB contender. He has to be trolling for entertainment. This has to be a child on his Mom's computer or some fat tubo that has no life. Dude can't be a real person.Jobafish wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 23:27 pmDumb. This is not on Marmal. Look at that jerk off projecting out his own stupidity. He is the only one talking to himself and he is as dumb as they come. The fact he brought it up shows everyone is getting to him and sees through his idiotic persona. He hasn't ever managed or coached anything in his life. He is probably one of the biggest losers on this board. I prefer Shady much more. They got rid of wrong clown.11WSChamps wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 22:04 pmYou are a complete moron.Melville wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 21:17 pmDeWitt hired The Marmot long before Bloom joined the organization.11WSChamps wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 20:28 pmYou get into a baseball discussion with me you'll be lucky to finish third.

Good to see you backtrack and admit that DeWitt, not Bloom, hired and retained The Marmot.11WSChamps wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 22:04 pmYou are a complete moron.Melville wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 21:17 pmDeWitt hired The Marmot long before Bloom joined the organization.11WSChamps wrote: ↑01 Aug 2026 20:28 pmYou get into a baseball discussion with me you'll be lucky to finish third.

As for the remainder of you post, I understand with perfection.
Some get a bit emotional when a sports team hits a downward spiral and release their frustration by needlessly lashing out.
I am always cognizant of that fact and take it into consideration when I see such behavior.
As for me, I am only and always about the game.
I encourage others to maintain that same focus - and I am gracious to those who cannot.
Again, barring devasting injuries, a team which can perform well in April and May can also perform well in July and August.
Since the team has been remarkably healthy, there is no excuse for the slide.
There is, however, a cause.
And since we have witnessed the Cardinals slide from contention with the arrival of July year after year, and since the singular constant is the manager who long preceded Bloom, the logical conclusion based on available evidence is that the lion's share of the blame is rightfully assigned to The Marmot.

Interesting attempt at a point on your part.
So you are claiming the staff was responsible for success earlier in the year, and that the same staff is now unable to help players adjust.
Obviously, you just unwittingly supported my correct analysis.
As I have pointed out several times previously with perfect insight, players can only out-perform poor leadership so long - and it inevitably catches up to them.
Glad we are in agreement, though you may not have been self-aware enough to realize it.
